- 03/11/11 07:27 AM
An issue that seems to have rare bi-partisan support these days in congress is the bill to close down Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac over the next 5-7 years. The reason for this plan is simple. These privately run institutions have always been government backed and when the housing market slumped and then the banking system crashed, tax payers had the opportunity to bail them out at a price tag of an accumulated $150 billion dollars and counting. Now I have never really understood the wisdom of a private company running with a government safety net but to close down these (1 comments)

These homes in Pickerington Oh, Reynoldsburg OH and Canal Winchester OH and every other Central Ohio community are the most visible evidence of the shadow inventory of homes that will continue to glut the real estate market and threaten to stall a recovery. Shadow inventory is the number of homes that are expected to be foreclosed on or have already been foreclosed but have not yet been put up for sale. Shadow inventory numbers include (0 comments)

Dashing the Dreams of Buying a Home for Sale in Pickerington Ohio...At Least Temporarily A past client called me over the weekend with a referral. Music to my ears! I love hearing from my past clients, and there's no higher compliment than a referral. He told me that his friends, first time home buyers, had been working with a local agent, but everything had seemed to go wrong. Could I help them get back on track? I didn't know the details, but I'm always up for a challenge and truly enjoy working with first time home buyers. So I set up (1 comments)

- 01/06/11 09:25 AM
Looks like no New Spending for Pickerington OH in 2011. Our new city manager has seemed to have started out well this year. After starting only about six months ago, Bill Vance has had his first budget approved and it's balanced, does not cut city services, and also provides for paying down the cities debt from it's current $37 million to $33 million by years end. Not a bad start. Thanks Bill. I do appreciate it, because I don't see any new revenue on the horizon for Pickerington and know that property tax revenue is still likely to shrink. It's that time of year that I love the most. Not just because, well, it's the holidays. It's also that time of year when things slow down a little and I go back and visit with my clients from the past year. I get a chance to catch up with them and they get a chance to see that I really am still in business. There are always a few clients that when I knock at the door I quickly ask myself, Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?? We always advise our clients that they should not be home when their house is being shown. We do this for the obvious reasons. The first being that I don't want them to be uncomfortable having people walking through their home. The second is that we don't want them to be put in an unforeseen position such as being questioned by a showing agent or the potential buyers. The third and most important reason is that buyers get really self-conscious in the presence of homeowners. I think the main reason that they feel this way is that they know, on some (5 comments)
