In my years of real estate... I have learned that sellers do NOT always know how to prepare for, or what to expect during a home inspection.  Realtors and Inspectors deal w/ home inspections every day, and we FORGET that the general public does not know what we take for granted as a given. 
I have had sellers turn off utilities PRIOR to an inspection.  I have encountered mean dogs during an inspection.  I even once had a seller who stored bottles of red wine in her OVEN... which we did not discover until the inspector turned the oven ON and we had rather warm wine … (9 comments)
