One of the terrific benefits in Yorba Linda is the incredible amount of walking trails, bike trails. horse trails that you can access through out the city. The city also runs along the Chino Hills State Park with endless outdoor exploring and the Yorba Regional Park with baseball fields, walking trails, bar-be-que areas and lakes. Plus, the Santa Ana River runs through the city providing walking and biking trails all the way to the beach! I have biked from Yorba Linda to the beach and back several times. When I was growing up, Yorba Linda still had a large agricultural business (Avacados, Oranges, Lemons, Strawberries, etc.) and it was quite common to see homeowners riding horses through out the city. The city has about 100 miles of equestrian, biking and walking trails. They have 3 arenas of which the Buena Vista facility is the largest. This is located near Buena Vista & Imperial Hwy. Also, you can access Chino Hills State Park off of Rimcrest in Yorba Linda and have miles of trail riding with sweeping views of the county. One of the wonderful things Yorba Linda was known for when I was growing up here was the open and rural feel of the city. Horse property was common and it was not unusual for homeowners to have very large lots. Even though the city has developed considerably over the last 40 years, we have made room for 2 golf courses. One of the courses, Yorba Linda Country Club, is a private course that also offers tennis and swimming. It has several banquet rooms for all occasions. One of the most exciting things about driving by the Nixon Library & Birthplace lately is seeing the Presidential helicopter on exhibit. When I was growing up in the Placentia/Yorba Linda area, I remember seeing the old Nixon home next to the elementary school that sat on the lot for decades. To see how the Presidential Library turned out, no matter what side of the political aisle your on, is worth your time.
