spring: The Eleventh of Mayuary - 05/11/11 03:04 AM
May 11th - woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground. It's 32 degrees outside and still snowing. It reminded me of a short poem I wrote a few years back after moving to Colorado from south Texas.
The winters here can be cold and wet and dreary,
but those days usually happen in January.
They say its springtime now, but I’m a bit leery,
I'm calling today the eleventh of Mayuary!

I love it when spring comes here in Castle Rock. 
The trees are budding out.  Tulips are starting to push their way up out of the ground.  Sixteen inches of new snow and wind chills down around zero degrees!  I know - I know - you folks up in North Dakota have weather like this in July - what am I complaining about?  Actually, I'm not complaining.  I love Colorado and the weather, here.  This time of year is when we typically get a lot of our snow, so it's just a part of life here.

spring: Spring - A Time of Renewal and Regrowth - 03/18/09 09:59 AM
Just three short days until the Vernal (spring) Equinox.  Of course, here in Colorado, that does NOT mean the end of winter since April is one of the snowier months, here.  We've even had snow during the first week in June!
This is also one of my favorite times of year (the autumn is the other - something about change) - the grass turns green, buds are appearing on trees, and flowers will soon be in bloom - - - sort of a renewal or new beginning that takes place each year.
