Yes, not only do I help my clients properties to fix and sell for profit, but I do the same for myself.  Recently, I have had the um, fortunate, opportunity to do a project with my family. 
In the past, it has just been my husband and myself, and we have been very sucessful at making a profit, every single time.  We had our disagreements, but with only two "cooks in the kitchen," decision making wasn't too hard.  We were able to quickly agree on cabinets, paint colors, flooring choices, etc.

Average Days on Market for West Madison:

Apparently the the housing news isn't as bad as we all thought. Again this news comes with a disclaimer that all real estate is LOCAL!!
The National Association of Realtors reports that the Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator based on contracts signed in June, rose 5.3 percent to from May, although its still lower then June of 2007.
Getting back to all real estate being local, each region showed different results for the PHSI. In the South, it jumped 9.3 percent to 92.4 in June but is 16.6 percent below June 2007. In the West, the index rose 4.6 percent … (2 comments)

Well, it appears as though part 2 of the Housing Bailout Bill has been passed by the Senate.  But, the credit is a bit confusing.
Basically, I gather that first time home owners will now get a fully refundable Federal tax credit (actually an interest free loan) in certain circumstances. Their definition of a first time homebuyer is a taxpayer who did not have an ownership interest in a principal residence in the US during the three year period prior to the purchase of the home to which the credit applies.  The "tax credit" is granted to first time homebuyers who purchase a house between … (13 comments)

I am helping to organize a Poker Run here in the Madison, Wisconsin area for our local Dane County Chapter of Habitat For Humanity.   The Poker Run will be held on the 21st of June (the first day of summer) and starts in Waunakee, Wisconsin at Mojo's Bar. We have 7 bars total that wish to participate and we're looking at making this an annual run.
 
Here lies the problem.   I need to come up with a good name for the Poker Run.  Please help!

wisconsin: FEDS Cut Fed Fund Rate - What does that mean for Home Loan Rates - 01/24/08 03:32 AM
In a surprise move Tuesday morning, the Federal Reserve lowered the Fed Funds Rate by .75% to 3.50%.  This move was prompted by an emergency meeting Monday night as global markets sold off significantly due to foreign investors' fears of a recession in the United States.  
While many believe that a cut to the Fed Funds Rate results in an immediate decrease to mortgage rates, this is not true.  In fact, on several occasions in the past, a cut to the Fed Funds Rate resulted in mortgage rates going higher in the following weeks.
