cats: Cats, Dogs and Babies - What could be better? - 01/28/11 07:00 AM
Well it's Friday and what better way to finish out a loooong week than by having a good laugh?  We have been pounded by snowstorm after snowstorm with another on the way.  Buyer and seller appointments that keep getting changed because of the weather and no sign of Spring in sight.  If you are an animal lover or love to watch babies than this is a cute video for you.  But watch out!  Your stomach may be hurting when it is over from all the laughing you will do.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!

cats: Don't Hate Me Because I am Beautiful! - 06/04/10 08:59 AM
Is this not the most gorgeous cat?  Several days ago I posted the picture of a cute little dachshund puppy and had several people ask me what was next to the puppy.  Well this is what was next to the puppy but I wasn't ready to reveal until today.  Both animals belong to a friend of mine who is slowly accumulating a small farm.  LOL  She now has 3 dogs, several cats and a bird.  Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the cat so I apologize for that.  But I couldn't resist posting the picture because she is absolutely gorgeous!  … (21 comments)

cats: 10 Common Foods That are Toxic to Pets - 04/02/10 01:55 PM

Great post from Westbrook Realty.

We don’t feed our dog human food, well, not much.  Our little silkie
does like beef jerky and potato chips!  But in researching how
many common food items are extremely toxic
is really surprising.  I knew about chocolate and leftover bones but
not the rest of the list.  Macadamia nuts, really!

We had a dog that loved grapes…..gee, we did not know they
weren't good for her.  I also had a friend in California
who lived next to an avocado grove. Her dog would gorge himself
on ripe avocados………..and then he had kidney … (11 comments)

cats: Keeping Your Cat from Clawing your Furniture - 03/06/10 07:02 AM
This is a follow up post to the keeping cats out of your plants.  I saw alot of complaints about scratching furniture, clawing wires and things of that sort.  I tried everything for those things too and of course nothing works.  Training-nope! Spraying "smell bad sprays"-nope! Moving the furniture around-nope! Piling the couches with stuff to keep the cat off-nope! Re-organizing wires etc...-nope! One day I was running out the door and I found a new problem solver quite by accident.  For every one of those problems.  You are going to laugh but I promise you, it has been working for … (20 comments)

cats: SILLY SATURDAY - MY FRIEND'S NEW PET - 12/26/09 09:32 AM
My friend Tina came to see me last week and brought her new pet with her.  What a cutie!

She adopted her new Yorkie from a place that does animal rescues. (North Shore Animal League) He is only a few years old (maybe 7) and she is in the process of training him, getting him used to her and used to other people.   When he came to her he had not been taken care of and had some problems.  He had a huge bite on his back which left him with a scab at the time he came to … (19 comments)

cats: Cat food recall - what to feed -- and not feed -- your pet - 12/11/09 07:13 AM

Another cat food manufacturer has issued a recall of two varieties of dry cat food. Diamond Pet Food's Premium Edge Finicky Adult Cat and Premium Edge Hairball cat food was recalled after 21 cats became sick from thiamine deficiency.
Visit this website for information on the symptoms of thiamine deficiency and what to do about it if you suspect it in your cat. If you bought one of these brands, take it back for a refund.
Cats are 100% meat eaters in the wild, so monitor their consumption of vegetables and greens carefully. (My cat likes asparagus and broccoli leaves.) Dogs are … (4 comments)

Pets seem to be an underreported side effect of foreclosures of the ongoing recession.
Most foreclosed families don't have any choice but to rent.  And many landlords won't accept pets.
I have seen unfortunate pets abandoned or left behind during tenant rental evictions for years.  I have discovered abandoned pets locked in … (4 comments)

cats: SPEECHLESS SUNDAY-WITH A LITTLE SPEECH--SORRY! - 08/23/09 08:53 AM
Here is an update of new kitty pictures on the gorgeous cat I got from Andrea Swiedler last month.

She is finally getting along with Frankie; or should I say Frankie is getting along with her.  Lots of jealousy issues you know.

She still insists on sleeping in the dirt.  (Why oh why?)  She is growing in leaps and bounds and is definitely attached to me.

Anytime I want to get computer work done I have to shut myself in a room by myself because she is either chewing on the computer cord or feels the … (16 comments)
