Our Wisconsin affiliate real estate office, Madeline Island Realty, has an extraordinary new residential listing for sale (2120 North Shore Road, LaPointe, Wisconsin) which I would describe as the ultimate residential restoration project.
The owner of this Madeline Island luxury home started this project by contacting a company in Vermont that specializes in restoring vintage barns, adapting them for use in residential construction. (5 comments)

Ordinarily, I'd post this on my Madeline Island Real Estate Blog, but since so many of my Madeline Island real estate clients (and our tourist visitors) come from the greater Minneapolis - Saint Paul area, I figured there would be plenty of interested readers.
Here goes..

What's better than being at the top of page one in search engine results? How about showing up two, three, four, maybe even five or more times on page one? Your goal should be to dominate the first page of search results for the most popular (and likely) area searches where you practice real estate. In some cases, it may be more important to show up multiple times on page one than it is to show up in first or second position. Here's an example of search engine saturation at work:

madeline island real estate: Google Map for Madeline Island Real Estate Listings on Lake Superior
- 10/25/10 06:44 AM
I've always been a huge fan of Google Maps. And I've meant to embed my Google Map for our Madeline Island listings for some time now. I've finally gotten around to accomplishing this. The map below indicates each of our listings on Madeline Island with a miniature version of our blue Madeline Island Realty sailboat logo graphic. Clicking on each listing takes the visitor to a link, either to a virtual tour, a YouTube video or a single-property flyer. If you happen to have multiple Gmail accounts, you can create maps within each of these accounts. And you can also create multiple (6 comments)
madeline island real estate: Google has Embraced QR Code Technology - Will ActiveRain Follow?
- 10/22/10 06:53 AM
You've probably noticed a growing amount of attention being paid to the use of QR Codes in real estate. QR codes are simply an adaptation of the bar codes found in stores which are scannable and which may convey a huge amount of information in a small space. A QR Code may be used to drive prospects to your Web presence, whether that happens to be your website, a real estate virtual tour or a YouTube video of a listing. QR Codes are popping up on business cards, brochures and flyers, lawn signs and anywhere a smartphone user might see (5 comments)
madeline island real estate: Why Aren't You Using Google Alerts to Track Your Presence on the Web?
- 09/29/10 07:21 AM
I spent a good part of my day teaching agents about blog marketing and SEO strategies yesterday at the Wisconsin Real Estate Convention (WRA) annual convention yesterday. And each time I offer these classes, I survey attendees about what they're doing to track their Web presence. To my surprise, an awfully large number of real estate agents aren't using Google Alerts. Many of them haven't even heard of this feature. Google touts Google Alerts as a way to "Monitor the Web for interesting new content" or "keep current on a competitor". But one of the best ways to use Google Alerts is simply to (82 comments)
madeline island real estate: My 507th ActiveRain Post
- 09/16/10 03:54 PM
I just took a peek at my statistics for my two blogs on ActiveRain. It's funny that I didn't notice the landmark, but I just passed the 500 post mark. I've put up 278 ActiveRain posts on my Madeline Island Real Estate Blog in Wisconsin to date. And I've also posted 228 times on my Lake Minnetoka and Twin Cities Luxury Real Estate Blog. Other than a hiatus that lasted maybe four or five months, I've stuck with it pretty consistently when it comes to blogging. I've blogged in my car, on a boat on Lake Superior and from the NAR Midyear in Washington D.C. (11 comments)
