Yesterday morning, I was in Baxter, Minnesota at the Greater Lakes Association of Realtors (GLAR), representing the Minnesota CRS Chapter (Council of Residential Specialists) as its 2015 President. The event was part of our "Breakfast of Champions" series, a panel discussion about Real Estate Trends and Issues Facing Today’s REALTORS®.
We had a fabulous group of attendees yesterday. And among those in attendance was well-known Minnesota blogger and home staging professional Kathleen Lordbock. Kathleen approached me after the event ended and I recognized her right away!
Okay, so it turned out to be an impromptu gathering (11 comments)

On Thursday, October 13, we had eighteen forward-thinking Realtors in attendance at the Minnesota Association of Realtors building in Edina, for the NAR "At Home With Diversity" class. Not only was the course well-attended, but class participation was among the best I've ever encountered for this course. We were delighted to see attendees from as far away as Hutchinson, Minnesota in class last Thursday. And it was an honor to see my friend Nobu Hata in attendance as well. (2 comments)
I was excited to learn today that the Minnesota Department of Commerce has approved the National Association of Realtors "At Home With Diversity" course for 7.5 CE credits in Minnesota. I was also proud to be part of the team which undertook the effort to secure continuing education credit, along with Minnesota Association of Realtors Senior Vice President Linda Modlinski, Val Brones and Peg Anderson of MNAR, and Minnesota CRS Chapter President Linda Johnson. The "At Home With Diversity" course is a great one-day blueprint for incorporating diversity into your real estate (3 comments)

MET JEFF DOWLER AT THE CRS AWARDS DINNER THIS EVENING IN NEW ORLEANS This evening I attended the Annual CRS Awards Dinner, which included the installation of Frank Serio as President of the Council of Residential Specialists. Our Wisconsin CRS Chapter received the "Chapter of the Year" award, which was a fantastic surprise. We were celebrating at our table when I overheard that ActiveRain member Jeff Dowler was named the new President of the Southern California CRS Chapter.
I left my table and hustled across the room to see if I could find Jeff. I spotted him in a crowd and (3 comments)
For the past few years, I've also been serving on the Board of the Wisconsin CRS Chapter and have worked my way up the ladder in Wisconsin to become Treasurer-elect and Education Chair. My Treasurer duties with the Wisconsin CRS Chapter will commence in January of 2011. I had some reservations about taking on another appointment and another set of duties. But I believe strongly in the value of the CRS Designation and (4 comments)
