Sometimes the easiest solutions are right in front of you. I discovered this recently while trying to assist a client. We needed a document notarized on a Sunday and it appeared impossible to find one in the southeast Saint Paul metro area. I called over twenty notaries within a radius of 20-30 miles and couldn't find a single notary who would meet us on a Sunday to notarize an important document. Google the search string "high tech high touch real estate" and you'll get hundreds and hundreds of results pointing to real estate agent and company websites which sell themselves using these buzzwords. The phrase "high tech, high touch" was coined back in 1982 by John Naisbitt, the author of "Megatrends". At the time, everything Naisbitt wrote was considered part of a futuristic gold standard. I was delighted to be quoted in a January 10, 2011 article in the Wall Street Journal, entitled "Market for Vacation Homes is on the Rise". The article last Monday, by S. Mitra Kalita, referred to our Wisconsin real estate office on Madeline Island and quoted me, along with NAR Economist Lawrence Yun, in a discussion of various luxury real estate markets that also included Cape Cod (MA), Southhampton (NY), the Pocono Mountain area (PA), Hilton Head (SC), Palm Beach (FL) and Mercer (5 comments)
Are you uploading your listings to the Web by street address? Or are you using a description like "three bedroom starter home close to downtown"? The "three bedroom starter home" tag would make a great subheading for your listing. But if you want to lead with something that will be found by search engines, upload and title your listings by address. DON'T FORGET TO ADD THE PROPERTY'S ZIP CODE TO THE LISTING TITLE. WHY? I recently got into a discussion about this topic with a number of real estate agents on another blog. I've noticed an increase in the number of buyer prospects who contact me via text messaging, particularly over the past six months or so. How many real estate agents out there are inviting prospects to text message them? For example, Do you offer an SMS Text number on your real estate sign riders? Do you put your Text Messaging number on property flyers or brochures? Do your blogs and social networking profiles offer a Text Messaging number to contact? Is there a text messaging (8 comments)
