~ Self portrait at sunset ~ It hit 110 degrees in Tucson this afternoon, so I made an adjustment. I took four bottles of water on on my 4:00 hike, and I chose a trail that intersects with the Dobe Wash. Today wasn't a day for hiking a trail with a lot of lines on the topo map. This Gila Woodpecker was working, though. I could hear the babies in the nest calling for food, and I set myself up in the shade of another saguaro cactus and started clicking away.
