New York City released new renderings of The High Line. The High Line park is being built atop the former elevated train track transforming 22 blocks into an open park.
The High Line runs through three of Manhattans most dynamic neighborhoods, Hells Kitchen, West Chelsea and the Meat Packing District.
 

A sun deck with half an inch of running water is a feature of the new park.

Before the Apple store opened and Google opened it's NY headquarters The Meat packing district was a gritty neighborhood with cobblestone streets where sloaughterhouses packed meat and there was Florent.
Before the young wall street types, fashion and model types and bridge and tunnel wannabe "sex in the city" types discovered the neighborhood the neighborhood demographic was primarily hookers, transvestites and leather men cruising outside the long gone sex clubs and bars with names like the Lure, the Manhole and the Mineshaft.

Fujifilm joins Friends of the High Line with Portrait project

Hundreds of photographs will be displayed in unique outdoor galleries to raise awareness of High Line park, projected to open in 2008.As the High Line park takes shape above the streets of New York City, construction fencing in the neighborhood will feature improvised outdoor art galleries covered with photographs of High Line supporters from the local community and beyond according to Friends of the High Line.
The group will also launch a Web site featuring the portraits, http://www.thehighline.org/portraits.
