Their food is no doubt at the top of the culinary food chain.  But, believe it or not, not every famous chef started their career in the food industry. Check out these stories of some popular chefs’ beginnings, including Louisiana’s own Emeril Lagasse! Emeril Lagasse got his start as a chef right in New Orleans and opened his first restaurant in 1990. He also published the best-selling cookbook "Emeril's New New Orleans Cooking," which grabbed the attention of executives at Food Network.   Lagasse is credited with kick-starting the then-struggling Food Network.  He has since, of course, built an empire.

Another new sign that the housing market is recovering at significant rates:  The number of pending home sales is climbing! Here’s the details according to the National Association of Realtors:  The pending home sales index seen through the end of May rose 6.7 percent from April and 12.1 percent on an annual basis.  That’s the biggest reading nationwide since December 2006! 
In all, the index increased to 112.3.   To put that into perspective, think of it simply like this - an index rating of 100 indicates normal conditions.  Anything higher is considered a positive sign and tracker for the housing … (0 comments)
