Plan on extra travel time to Door County this spring and summer, but take time to enjoy downtown Sturgeon Bay. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is rehabilitating the Bayview Bridge (Highway 42/57) in Sturgeon Bay, Door County This work is being done to extend the life of the bridge. The Bayview Bridge was opened in 1978.
The bridge has been closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic since March 5, 2013. During this time, traffic will be detoured through Sturgeon Bay.
