They are BACK!!!!!Shoemaker & Hardt has been a wonderful part of the Historic Downtown Wylie area for many years. This Coffee Shop and Country Store is a favorite with residents all across Wylie and the surrounding areas. Its a place to grab a drink, sit and visit, or enjoy a game of chess, checkers, or mancala. They also sell the most adorable gifts and have vintage-style sodas and bulk candy. They officially re-opened this past weekend after an extensive hail-damage related remodel. 3/31/10 UPDATE - Road Construction of FM 1378 (Country Club Drive) More construction from FM 544 to Brown Street about to beginThe Wylie City Council recently approved a contract to proceed with the reconstruction of FM 1378 (Country Club Drive) from FM 544 to Brown Street. This is the route directly surrounding the new Municipal Complex. The construction is scheduled to take just under 12 months to complete. This section of roadway has already been re-aligned to the west of the existing roadway. The new construction includes a 75 foot bridge over Muddy Creek. Wylie Crime Rate Drops for Second Year in a Row The Wylie Police Department has reported that the City’s 2009 crime rate dropped by 4% over 2008.
