google plus: If Google Plus is a ghost town, why do I have 8100+ followers? - 04/29/13 03:17 AM
I'll be honest. I'm not particularly special when it comes to being a Realtor, or even a home stager (my previous career). I seem to be pretty good at online marketing, and I enjoy some social media (still not a fan of Linked In or Twitter, and I don't really get Instagram.) I have loved Google Plus since day one of Bill Gassett introducing me to it. What I always hear is that it is a ghost town. No one is there. Well, let me correct you. There are a LOT of people there. What's even more interesting is that there are a lot of … (2 comments)

google plus: Google + Real Estate Community wants your opinion on listing postings - 04/10/13 02:10 AM
The Real Estate Community in Google Plus is looking for your opinion. This post contains valuable information on SEO and G+ communities and provides background on our question regarding the posting of listings in our community. I know the post is lengthy, and I apologize for that, but I wanted to make sure that readers understand WHY we have proposed our survey question.    Google Plus Communities have more SEO value   Recently we learned that G+ has started assigning Page Rank to communities. What this means, in a nutshell, is that not only do G+ posts on our profiles rank in … (12 comments)

google plus: Sharing listings in Real Estate Communitities in Social Media Streams - 01/25/13 11:12 PM
Real Estate Communities Etiquette   Maybe the questions is less whether you can share your listings in real estate communities on sites like Google Plus, Facebook, and Twitter, and more, SHOULD you. As one of the four moderators in Real Estate Community, one of the top exclusive communities in Google Plus, I see people regularly post their listings and have to wonder "WHY?".    When determining if it is right to share your listing inside of a real estate, or other community through social media there are two primary questions to ask yourself.   Who is your audience in your Social … (2 comments)

google plus: How I know G+ Plus is better than Facebook for my Real Estate Business - 01/16/13 09:04 AM
Dear friends question my sanity when I say that Google Plus is better than Facebook for my Jacksonville real estate business. I try to explain all of the benefits of SEO. I try to explain communities. I even try to explain the Nearby feature that allows me to network with complete strangers who live in my area. None of that gets through. Today it occurred to me that I have one more attempt to showcase why G+ is better than Facebook - at least for my Jacksonville Real Estate biz.   My contacts on Google Plus are other Real Estate Professionals … (51 comments)

google plus: Google Plus adds Communities -The Perfect opportunity to get Customers - 12/07/12 10:41 PM
Google Plus adds Communities - The perfect opportunity to use G+ to get Customers   I've seen a lot of conversations over the last several weeks that I've been using Google Plus that it's a great community, but Facebook is still better for finding customers. Well, I think that is now about to change.      Probably the best thing about this is the fact that it will connect you with those who have similar interests. If you love scifi (like I do) then maybe you want to join the Star Wars community, or Scifi community. Everyone here probably should join The … (41 comments)

google plus: I asked a question about AR & AuthorRank. What Happened Next was Shocking - 11/14/12 02:10 AM
I asked a question about AR and AuthorRank. What Happened Next was Shocking...    Jumping feet first into the Google Plus pool, I've been trying to learn everything I can about the subject. Google Plus is more than a social media platform, it is SEO. Frankly, I've been over Twitter and Facebook for a while, but maintain a presence there because my business needed it, well, or at least that has been my premise. I joined Google Plus eons ago and felt like it was a Ghost Town. Crickets chirping when I was there. Right... nothing to see here, move along.  … (85 comments)

google plus: Why I didn't circle you back on G+ - 11/13/12 06:56 AM
Why I didn't circle you back on G+   Have you been reading everyone's blogs as they go Ga-Ga for Google? For many, they still just don't get it. If you are one of the people who have created a profile, and added a bunch of people to your circles, but still feel like you don't have any traction, ask yourself if you are guilty of any of these?   You filled out only the minimum necessary on your Google Plus profile.    *GASP* if you are still a faceless entity on Google Plus, chances are you have almost no one … (14 comments)

google plus: Do I +1, Share, or Comment. Does it make a difference where I do it? - 11/04/12 01:31 AM
Do I +1, Share, or Comment. Does it make a difference where I do it?    You might have caught Rich Cedarburg's blog about Google Plus yesterday. It started out as me posting a question about +1'ing or sharing a post on Google Plus. Did it make a difference whether you did it from the original post, or should you do it from Google Plus?    This became a hugely interesting conversation with more than 45 comments. (Read our google plus conversation) Because you may not have time to read all of the comments, let me summarize what we learned.    What's the difference … (33 comments)

google plus: How I know Bill Gassett is right about Google Plus - 10/27/12 02:09 AM
How I know Bill Gassett is right about Google Plus   Did you read yesterday's post by Bill Gassett, Not Using Google+? - Why Your Real Estate Competition Will Crush You? I know you probably did. It has nearly 90 comments and over 2700 facebook likes. The question is, did you listen to him?  A few weeks ago, I read his post, If you Are Not On Google+ You Should Be. I saw that he had his Google Plus profile linked to his AR account, so I added him to a circle. Since then I've been +1ing and interacting with him along with several … (18 comments)

google plus: How to Write a Business Review in Google Plus... - 10/08/12 07:36 AM
How to Write a Business Review in Google Plus...   Bill Gassett wrote a great blog, that is currently featured, about why you should be on Google Plus. I loved this blog. Adding him to my circles, I noticed that he had shared a blog, How to Get Review Cred in G+ Local as a Top Reviewer- As a Business Page. This seemed timely for me because a couple of weeks ago I started leaving reviews for some of my professional peers on their business pages.    Over the weekend, one of those peers contacted me wanting to reciprocate but couldn't figure out … (6 comments)

google plus: 10 days later and 'my pretty face' is in Google searches! - 10/08/12 03:24 AM
10 days later and 'my pretty face' is in Google searches! A big Thank you to Michael George and his blog post, Get Your Pretty Face To Appear In Google Search Results. I followed his instructions, including the ones listed in Can we get our faces to appear in Google for our ActiveRain blogs? Now 'my pretty face' is showing up.

The entire process took me less than five minutes, since I already had a Google account set up. I honestly spent more time checking each day for the results to appear than I did with the process of setting it up.  Why should … (3 comments)

google plus: Have you added your G+ account to your AR Profile? - 09/24/12 01:25 AM
This morning I wrote a blog saying, Don't just SUGGEST the blog, G+ it & get them additional SEO rankings. Then David Grbih came along and suggested, "I would add that if you really like it, add the author to your Circles."
David, what a great idea. Click over to your profile but your G+ account isn't listed. Then I went to do that with another commentor. Same thing. Then I checked each of the profiles for those who commented. Less than half had added their G+ account to their AR profile. This got me to thinking that maybe some people don't know … (5 comments)
