seo analytics: How much is your blog worth? - 04/01/09 09:54 AM
This is a little widget I found that will calculate how much your blog is worth.  It is just another fun little thing I found when doing some research for a client.  If you click with-in the widget you will go to a page that allows you to paste your blog url.  It will then tell you what your blog is worth. It also gives you the HTML code to produce the widget you see here.

My blog is worth $9852.00.How much is your blog worth?

Online Reputation Management is an on going process that needs to be practiced on a daily basis. There is a very easy way to monitor your image online. Just use Google Alerts. Google Alerts will scour the Internet during its regular schedule and alert you when it finds your name or company name (really any phrases you set it up for). This frees you from the daily task of doing this. The URL for this cool little feature is http://www.google.com/alerts. When you get there you will see that you do not have to have a Gmail account to use this. I use it … (1 comments)

seo analytics: Do SEO Firms and Web Designers make good Bed-Fellows? - 11/04/08 04:37 AM
I recently received a Twitter from my old friend Jim asking me why his SEO guys will not ever talk to his Web Designers.  Now before you laugh you have to understand my friend Jim and Twitter.  Yes I know the name Twitter sounds kind of funny but it is certainly easy to remember.  And before you jokers out there start making comments about my friend giving me a Twitter it has nothing to do with a "Purple Nerple".  Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: … (8 comments)

seo analytics: Will the Economy Redefine your Market Plan? - 11/04/08 04:22 AM
I think most people would agree that in tough economic times your marketing plan is even more important.  Your plan is the marketing outline your business should follow and grow with, even in tough times.  You may have to redefine your plan to the current economic climate but you should still follow your plan.
Your plan will help you decide where you money should go.  It will help you decide if you need to spend more or perhaps pull back a bit.  What ever the case it will help lead you and keep you on target to meeting any goals you have established for … (2 comments)

seo analytics: Google and your scanned douments - 11/04/08 03:34 AM
For those of you who have not heard yet, Google can now read your scanned documents.   This is pretty huge and adds another dimension to your SEO.  If you put scanned documents on your website you are going to want to make sure you practice some good SEO with those documents.
Google has been reading Adobe pdf files for sometime and even offers the ability to see them in HTML format.  This is great for people who do not have a pdf reader on their pc. But common, this reader is free.  When you scan a document you are basically taking … (4 comments)

seo analytics: Do I need to Proactive about my On-line Reputation? - 10/26/08 05:13 AM
You have to be very proactive when it comes to your on-line reputation. The way the search engines work today any bad press about you can be listed in a matter of hours on the search engines. Deals could be lost and business relationships shattered if you are not proactive about your company and personal reputation. But how does one become proactive? One of the easiest ways is to do a search on your name or your company's name. Try all three of the most popular search engines. They would of course be Google, Yahoo and MSN. Each one will give back … (8 comments)

seo analytics: Reputation Management is a Two-Edged Sword - 10/26/08 04:48 AM
Reputation Management can certainly be a two edged sword. Though many companies use this "Technique" to legitimately rectify false and misleading information, others are using it to make a "Fresh Start". This so called "Fresh Start" is usually the result of the company in question providing poor customer service or just ripping the customer off.The legitimate uses are practiced by some of the leading Fortune 500 Companies and by smaller business and individuals. Many times a former employee or disgruntled customer will go on many of the "Service Rating" websites and make false claims. They will also blog anomalously about some … (1 comments)

seo analytics: Search Engine Reputation Management-Worst Case Scenario - 10/25/08 10:47 AM
By now you have probably heard about what happened to United Airlines. But for those of you who have not heard let me briefly explain what happened. In 2002 the Chicago Tribune newspaper published an on-line article about United Airlines declaring bankruptcy. This should have stayed old news, since this story is now 6 years old, but it did not stay old news. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, whose parent company also owns the Chicago Tribune, reran the article. But the Sentinel had a date of 2008 posted with the article. In no time flat this information ran around the Internet so … (5 comments)

seo analytics: Help for the Google Analytics Newbie! - 10/21/08 01:48 PM
Anyone who uses Google Analytics on their website will tell you that sometimes it is hard to make sense of all that information.  I would have to agree with that.  Sometimes even the most experienced of us wish Google had done a better job than they did. Don't get me wrong...I think Google Analytics is a nice tool to use, but you should always use a second Analytical tool to track visitors and other information for your website.
I have been playing with several Google Analytic plug-ins and I have one I think is pretty decent.  Several of my clients really … (2 comments)

seo analytics: ActiveRain and the speed of BOT - 10/20/08 05:41 AM
I for one am always amazed how fast some website get crawled by the search engine bots.  I use Google Alerts to notify of many different words and phrase, including my name.  I posted a new Blog last night and the time stamp between here and my email was only 50 minutes.  That is very fast and many of my Blogs on ActiveRain have been indexed in less than 90 minutes.  Just goes to show you how popular Activerain is and how many links there are here.

seo analytics: Cool tool to jazz up you blogs - 09/23/08 03:23 PM
I have a little tip for those of you who want to add something different to you blogs.  It is a free Survey tool called SurveyMonkey.com.  This is a pretty cool way to add a survey to your blogs and it is really easy to use.  All you do is set up an account, and start putting together your survey. I promise it is very simple.
You can just use the free account which allows up to 10 questions and 100 responses.  That alone is going to be enough for most people.  It also allows you to manipulate the form you … (10 comments)
