Many places to be on the water is an impossible dream because local lakefront, oceanfront real estate is sky high priced year in and decade after decade.
Why?
Because there never is enough, folks with money can afford it and buy often with their heart not their head.
And the further away from cities you go, the lower cost the real estate with water tied to it.

Up early, slipping on sneakers and as the morning sun rises in Maine on an Aroostook County lake heading out for a walk to the dam exiting that lake..wanna come along? Open jeeps and other campers on their way to town for hardware supplies for a project. Or to get more food for the company coming later today. Pleasant Lake is clean, sought after but there is never, ever enough inventory to meet the demand for this type of property. Maine waterfront jewel.
