I just drove, in the dark from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to Spartanburg, South Carolina in the rain. It was really good to have a good set of windshield wiper blades. I have made this trip before and not had good wiper blades. A good set of wiper blades can really make the difference in how well yo...

Since the weather is really getting cold - make sure that you have all of your foundation vents closed (if your house is on a crawl space). This is one of the things you can do to help with your heating costs. Also, make sure that you check your batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxi...

I brought home a Christmas tree light fixer from Lowe's and my wife loved it! We always dread trying to get the lights on the trees to work. My wife wants to put a tree in every room - and getting all of those lights to work can really be a hand full. We had all of the lights working in about 20 ...

I pushed the drain pipe deeper into the pipe in the wall. Then put a zip tie to secure it. This fixed the problem. Again the cost was $0.00 and I spe...

My neighbor called and asked if I could help her. She had bought a refrigerator from an individual. It would cool but would not freeze. I pulled the front cover off to see if the coil was dirty and did not hear the fan motor running. So, I pulled the refrigerator out from the wall and pulled the ...

How many times have you stood on a one or five gallon bucket to reach something? Have you ever had the bucket to scoot out from under you? This happened to my father-in-law and he ended up with a broken arm. With the holiday season here, no doubt we will be reaching for things onthe top shelves i...

This holiday season do we spend - do we continue to charge on our credit cards or do we decide not to spend as much. Will we ever decide that if we don't have the money to pay for something in our pocket then maybe we don't need it?  Stores like Sears and Kmart have brought back lay-away. Is this...
