Most real estate agents run around being and feeling busy but miss their goals because of two main reasons:
They do not keep tabs on their numbers. They do not stick close to their highest priority (and revenue generating) activities. So how can real estate agents become successful?
Agents, make this the year you far surpass your goals and expectations by identifying them and consistently tracking and analysing your numbers.  It’s a little like working a mathematical equation backwards.
How can real estate agents become successful?
Get out a notebook or piece of paper. Now, start with your goal:  How much do you want … (0 comments)

realtors: How to get Client Testimonials - 12/15/15 02:07 AM
Active Rainers, testimonials accomplish two important things in Referral & Repeat Marketing.
First, testimonials tell prospects and colleagues that you have a reputation for building long lasting, solid relationships with clients.
Second, testimonials make all your marketing communications and presentations more believable.
Lets face it. Clients expect you to be at least a little bit biased when talking about yourself. But they will trust their fellow home buyers and sellers to tell it like it is.
However, many agents find it difficult to ask for a testimonial. “I do not want to make my clients feel uncomfortable,“ many say.
So how do you ask for a testimonial without putting … (14 comments)

Oh, yes, it’s blooper day, and I found some eye-popping gaffes on the MLS this week! realtors: Americans are planning to give back more in 2015 - 12/08/15 02:40 AM
When I read this post, I couldn't help but wonder, 'How are we all going to give back more to our communities this year'? I look forward to reading your responses.
With a better economy and more jobs, people tend to do more and want to pitch in help the poor and needed.

According to a survey conducted and compiled as Well Being Index which breaks down age group, 71% employees plan to "give back" in someway.

More than half donate money or goods to a charitable organization while less than 20% plan to physically volunteer to help at events.

realtors: How to qualify past clients for Referral Marketing - 12/07/15 10:51 PM
It is natural to want to include every client you have ever worked with in your Referral Marketing database, but this is not a good idea.
Why?
There are some clients who – for whatever reason – will never use your services again nor refer business to you. So why waste time and money marketing to them? Instead, the only names that should be in your database are those who are, or could potentially become, loyal to you.

How do you qualify past clients for Referral Marketing? Its easy, just ask yourself a few simple questions:
“Did the previous transaction come to a … (2 comments)

realtors: How Realtors Build Loyalty with Social Media Marketing - 11/15/15 11:54 PM
Many people, including potential prospects and past clients, like to read real estate news and in fact they will look for this information on various websites, and social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
But are they finding you there? Or are they finding some other REALTOR®?
On these sites, you need great content to attract prospects, and motivate them to learn more about you. If your competitor is showing up in front of your audience with great content, but you are not, there is a chance your competitor will be chosen over you. If you want to build loyalty … (1 comments)

realtors: Realtors avoid a common time management mistake - 11/08/15 11:32 PM
Most books on time management teach us to focus only on activities that are important or urgent. This is the so-called “ABC priority approach” where you focus on the ‘A’ priorities first, then the ‘B’s, and finally the ‘C’s.
The ‘C’ list often includes little things, such as making a file folder to hold new client paperwork, or calling to book a follow-up dental appointment. You know – the activities that can wait until later.
The problem is, “later” never comes. And all your little tasks begin to pile up. Fast.
It’s very difficult to focus on the important things you … (3 comments)

realtors: Staging is NOT a Band- Aid for Every Property. - 11/02/15 05:21 AM
Staging will not solve all your real estate problems. This is a great post.
Staging is Not a Band-Aid for Every Property

Staging is not the band-aid or fix for every property.  Don’t misunderstand, condition is important when you’re selling your home or an investment property.
Price is always king, but you have to throw location and condition into the mix.
I received a call from an investor who was having trouble selling a home they had recently purchased and rehabbed.  Most everything was updated, fresh paint, repairs and made move-in-ready.

These investors had been in the business for more … (2 comments)

We are very happy to announce that this week's blog post was originally published by INMAN, see original post by clicking here.
Realtors you may be wondering, why send direct mail to past clients? They’ve already done business with me, I’m sure they’ll do business with me again. Right?
Not necessarily. Sending direct mail newsletters to past clients is a great way to ensure you stay top of mind. If a person gets a piece of direct mail with your name on it, they’ll be instantly reminded of the exceptional service you provided them and will be more likely to think of you when they need … (1 comments)

realtors: Does it ever make sense to try to hang onto a listing when the seller wants out? - 10/27/15 06:54 AM
This is a great post and had to re-blog.
Today, Karen Fiddler wrote a great post about what some sellers in her community had to do to get out of a listing agreement.  And this probably happens more often than we like to think about.
In this case, the previous listing agent had done something clearly bad and wrong, but his broker backed him up.  The seller was angry and wanted out of the listing agreement prior to the expiration date, and the broker clung to the agreement for dear life, refusing to sign a release until the local Board got … (4 comments)

realtors: How to Drive traffic to your Real Estate Facebook page - 10/21/15 06:29 AM

Back in the summer we had a feature blog post on the Morris Real Estate Marketing blog  on how to drive traffic to your real estate Facebook page, and I thought it would be useful to the Active Rain community as well.
The importance of building a strong social media presence is widely acknowledged within the marketing and customer service community, and for many, the social network that can drive the most traffic, is Facebook. With 1.39 billion users logging on each month, Facebook is currently the most popular social network (if it were a country, it would be the most popular nation on … (9 comments)
