steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Tonights hike and sunset in the white Mountains of New Hampshire. - 09/09/11 01:36 PM
I took a hike up towards Elbow Pond in Woodstock New Hampshire. I started out following Glover Brook towards the trail head. Luckily I got some shots before I fell in the Stream and had to walk home soaked to the waist.

After the Tropical storms that hit the Northeast we have had strong white waters in normally quiet streams.

The waterfalls were roaring on my hike it was beautiful and a little intimidating at the same time, nature flexing.

This is where I found the wet rocks and deep green moss to be very slippery ...so home … (24 comments)

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: White Mountain NH Vistas. February business is about to get very busy. - 02/16/11 07:49 AM
Things are about to get a lot busier in my neighborhood...we get a surge of Vacationers and second home owners when the February school vacation weeks hit (Presidents day- week for Massachusetts and the week after for other New England States). My last chance to ski for a couple of weeks - fell on a gray sky day.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: White Mountain -Winter in the Woods - NH photos - 02/09/11 06:24 AM
What a beautiful day to get out into the woods...Big Views and hemlock trees weighed down with dense snow.

The groomed trails make a cross country ski so easy - smooth and quiet in the woods.

The view north peeking through the trees was really nice - with the blue sky backdrop.

The clouds are starting to roll in again time to head for home...before the snow socks me in.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: White Mountain Sunrise...and fully sun up -photos - 02/09/11 12:12 AM
This morning started at 5 below zero...with beautiful pink sky's

At 6:30 the mountains and sky's were looking very pink. First cup of coffee this morning -enjoying the view.

at 7:30 with the sun fully up and temps have risen to an even "ZERO" yeah it is going to be in the positive numbers today. A small victory to look forward too.
I'm not crazy - I didn't have to go outside for these shots, this is my kitchen window. Second cup of coffee.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Wordless - White mountain snow - 02/02/11 06:26 AM
I cleared off this table a few days ago...I still grill in the winter.

It is still lightly snowing and by my unofficial count we have seen 50 inches of snow in the last 20 days.

Un-official count 13.5 inches from this storm...and still snowing. Ready for a White Mountain winter wonderland vacation, the conditions couldn't be better - if your plans include any type of snow sport.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Marketing your way to business success - 02/01/11 03:04 AM

Many things are purchased on impulse, I once owned a Red Convertible with rear wheel drive and I live in one of the snowiest parts of the country. With real estate that is not the case, most buyers spend more time searching the Internet – ads, and seeking advice from friends that have more experience than the soon to be buyer before calling a Realtor. We want to be found, our product to be seen and our reputation to be highly recommended by everyone in our sphere of influence. My Marketing plan is flexible so I can react to new … (6 comments)

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: White Mountain wednesday - winter storm - 01/12/11 01:55 AM
We are expecting an inch or two an hour for the rest of the day.

I did sweep off the deck, and put out some seed for the local wildlife. The birds have a feeder but the squirrels have to forage on the ground.

Don't forget your outdoor friends today...they are counting on the kindness of their indoor neighbors.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Realtors Schedule time off around their clients vacations in second home sales - 01/04/11 12:30 AM

If you are not living on the edge, you're taking up way too much room. One of the great things about living in a resort town is: You have top notch recreation available to you every day. But if you're in the real estate business you are busy when everyone else is on vacation, having said that, I haven't been able to go skiing or go to the resort fitness center for the past two weeks. As my clients get back to work after a long winter - Holiday, I can get back on the Mountain, back to the club … (3 comments)

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Photos of my Favorite Look out point on the Kancamagus scenic highway N.H. - 12/30/10 08:29 AM
Any one that has seen one of my fall foliage photo blogs will recognize the strange name of this scenic route. The Kancamagus is a National - Federal scenic highway connecting Lincoln - to - North Conway New Hampshire. The views are spectacular, but that is not my favorite part of this White Mountain National Forest preserve. The route is 35 miles long from one end to the other and for that distance you see no: Wires, poles transformers, homes, gas stations hotels ...or for that matter no man made structures at all. There are however an abundance of places to … (11 comments)

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: I can feel the storm brewing in the White mountains, the day has darkened - 12/26/10 06:50 AM
You know when you feel it in your bones. The day started bright and calm winds...it has darkened and the breeze has an edge to it now. A view from the Boom Run Trail on Loon mountain in Lincoln New Hampshire...the blue sky's and lack of wind has been replaced with this ominous scene.

It has gotten progressively darker from the east...the gulf of Maine is less than a hundred miles away and I'm told it is already snowing there. We are expecting a Foot of the white stuff and the folks at the Loon mountain ski area in Lincoln … (11 comments)

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Snow Shoeing in Franconia Notch - a White mountain Winter thrill - 12/24/10 02:47 AM
On the Morning of Christmas Eve...before heading to work I had time for a quick snow shoe in the Franconia Notch State Park. The Snowmobile trails were open and the path to Mount Pemigewasset looked well traveled.
The Parking lot at the Flume was empty before 8am on Christmas eve Morning, so off I went camera in hand to share one last post before family and friends descend on our home.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: My first kiss...was found in this Loon mountain NH Home. - 12/10/10 11:36 AM

This is a story about growing up with a place in White Mountains of New  Hampshire and how things can come full circle. When I was about 14, we drove to Loon Mountains most weekends in the winter. Some of my most vivid teenage hormonal memories' were walking across the road from my parent vacation home to the ski area. There was cool stuff going on there and it was safe to roam around listening to the sound of the snow guns and seeking out friends among the other young skiers. There were girls in these ski homes dotted around … (21 comments)

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Lincoln New Hampshire Riverfront Park four season master plan - 11/27/10 05:02 AM

Riverfront Park Lincoln NH.
A tentative master plan was in the works during the real estate development boom of the mid 1980's. Folks that were profiting from resort properties were encouraged (required) to set aside a right of way along the Pemi River.
The Two Town master plan...Woodstock to the Franconia Notch State park, and From the White Mountain Attractions to Lincoln-woods National Forest ranger station (on the Kancamagus scenic highway). Below: the center of Lincoln NH red-line indicates the White Mountain Visitor center - to the South Mountain Bridge to Loon's Ski Resort.

steve loynd loon mountain area properties: Have it all...1.6 acre site , river, mountain and golf course view $79,900 NH - 11/19/10 12:06 PM
Too much to get in to the title, Southern exposure, with views of the Pemigewasset river, The Jack O'Lantern Golf course and the Franconia notch Mountain range. Highland point Thornton NH listing details

Not the best day to see the Notch but you get the idea with the golf course in the foreground and the mountains to frame the view you'll love this location.

The silver reflection due south is of the Pemigewasset river, it's just across the street from this location. With  a minimal amount of clearing a super water view will be easy to attain.
