Recently I have written several blog articles on the impact of Proposition 13 that was passed by California voters back in 1978.I have written about the origins of the voter mandated reduction of real estate assessed value and a couple of articles on how Californians are able to reduce assessed values when they are too high with this recent article and this one I first wrote back in 2006.I have even re-blogged what other members of ActiveRain have had to say on the topic when Adam Brett explained how taxes may actually go backwards next year.What is of concern to me … (0 comments)

RESPA has been a part of the real estate landscape since most of us have been selling Real Estate and has been a very important law on the way the real estate industry is run for the protection of the consumer. I almost let this day slip away from me...but one more milestone has been achieved.Three years ago today - the day after Christmas, 2006 I dusted off the blog I created 6 months earlier and finally published my first blog article, ..."Is this a Good Time to BUY?"Interesting glimpse into the future. blog: All Real Estate is Local...And Your Retailers Should Be Too!

Anyone who knows me or reads my blog knows that I am an advocate of local shopping; in particular when it comes to Real Estate. I never could understand the logic of a local resident going to an agent 50 miles away (or further) and having them list their home for sale...just because they may know them or be related. The key has always been that local area experts do a better job of marketing a home for sale and end up with a higher price.

It seem like just a couple of weeks ago that I spent hours into my 500th post, when I published 500 and Still Swinging... and wasn't it just a few days ago when I hit the 200,000 point plateau on ActiveRain when I published Another ActiveRain Milestone: Another ActiveRain Milestone: 200,000 Points.And here I am at 600! Yikes, I need a life

As huge as this is, it is now a fairly common accomplishment for anyone who consistently works his or her ActiveRain Blog. I recently wrote my 500th blog article and spent a lot of time analyzing much of my ActiveRain journey since I started in 2006.Truth is anyone should be able to accomplish this in less than a year...let me break it down.Active Rain awards 100 points a day, just for checking in and then 25 points for the first 10 blog comments you make on a daily basis. Whenever I am looking to launch a new web campaign or looking for topics to blog about that will help with my Google Search Results I turn to key word searches.If you don't already have a free tool that will help you identify the various key word variations in your market, then first thing I suggest you do is a Google Search for a term similar to FREE KEYWORD TOOL. This will return nearly 17 Million Results, so I'll bet you can find one pretty easy without me having to make a recommendation.

Reflecting on how the real estate business model has changed since I was first licensed five short years ago really is amazing. The way I do business now is so much different from the ‘old school' business model that I was recruited into.Perhaps the biggest difference is the website. Five years ago, very few agents had websites, let alone blogs or virtual tours or even IDX property searches. Active Rain & Google - a Follow-Up & Some New Tips: On January 11th, I wrote an article about the effect that ActiveRain has had on my search engine results, specifically with achieving a page one ranking on Google, in just 15 days.
I just wanted to offer a follow-up, two weeks later, as I had been warned that it might only be a temporary thing - one that could change overnight.
