government: Cash for Caulking - Another Program for the Socialist States of America - 12/13/09 06:08 PM
If you are in favor of a nation of entitlements than I am sure you will love this post I found.  However, if you are a bit old fashioned and believe that you should get what you earn and don't require a government to tell you what to do or pay you to do what they think you should then you will be as outraged as I am on this matter. Here is one more government program, being proposed, that will create a cottage industry of handymen with caulking guns running around helping homeowners fulfill the program and make sure they get … (7 comments)

government: What would you do if there was no more Internet? - 09/26/09 06:49 PM
OK, I know that sometimes I get off on a tangent and can buy into a conspiracy theory. I recently shared thoughts on the Governments intervention with the Internet, when I posted If the Government Can Plan for a "Worst Case" Scenario, shouldn't We?  So I was told that it was nonsense by some and others were legitimately scared.
Well, I was surfing around and found a video on YouTube that claims the way the Internet works today will be gone and totally commercialized in the next 4 years.

Now I don’t know how credible the video is – but the … (12 comments)

government: If the Government Can Plan for a "Worst Case" Scenario, shouldn't We? - 08/28/09 06:22 AM
Senator Jay Rockefeller, a Democrat from West Virginia, has been working on a "worst case" scenario legislation that would give complete control of the Internet to President Obama in a ‘cyber security emergency'.
The bill, S.773, allow the president to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" relating to "non-governmental" computer networks and furthermore empowers the government to do "what is necessary' in response to the threat. I understand there is similiar legislation in Congress.
An issue I have with the proposed bill is that the feds want to create a Federal Certification Program for "Cybersecurity Professionals" and that certain networks and computer systems in … (3 comments)

government: Now, Who is Helping Who? ... and a Few more Questions that need Answering... - 12/06/07 01:05 AM
We knew there would eventually be some sort of government intervention into the current housing situation in this country.  Just this week the Treasury Secretary, Harry Paulson, proposed a plan that would either freeze or fix the rates on adjustable rate mortgages (ARM).On the surface, this appears to be good for the country, right?  Or is it?  I am just a simple REALTOR® who wants to sell real estate for a living.  I do not pretend to be an economist or financial analyst, yet something does not smell right here.
The proposed program is being touted as helping the 4 to 7 … (6 comments)

Ultimately, many families will lose their home either … (27 comments)
