maine lakefront property: Lake Arrowhead Residents Make Difference in Battle Against Milfoil
- 04/16/10 03:44 AM
In 2000 Variable-Leaf Milfoil (VLM) was discovered in Lake Arrowhead, located in Waterboro and Limerick. Lake Arrowhead covers approximately 1,100 acres in southern Maine and has an average depth of 6 feet-creating a perfect breeding ground for VLM. The Lake Arrowhead Conservation Council (LACC) raised funds and spearheaded an attack to combat the VLM. Their approach has been three-pronged as they've used a diver-assisted suction harvester, Benthic barrier program and vigorous courtesy boat inspector program in the fight against this invasive species.Dave Sanfason is the lead boat captain on the S.S. Arrowhead, the suction harvester. In the Milfoil Update dated August

maine lakefront property: Stoneham, Maine is Home to Picturesque Keewaydin Lake and the Peaceful Waters of Virginia Lake
- 10/15/09 12:58 AM
Tucked away only 30 minutes from Bridgton and about the same from North Conway, New Hampshire, is Keewaydin Lake in Stoneham. The breathtaking scenery, mountain views, big sky and sparkling water make this 307 acre lake a gem to spend time on. Few large boats are found on the lake and jet skis are not allowed, adding to its tranquility. During July and August, the water temperature averages around 75-82, just right for a refreshing dip. And a dip is the perfect way to end the day if you've been out on the lake. Joan Lundin, a lakefront owner, loves to explore

maine lakefront property: Maine Lakefront Property Buyers Need to Keep an Eye on Interest Rates
- 09/24/09 06:10 AM
If you're a prospective buyer of Maine lakefront property and you have cash, you can focus entirely on the lakefront real estate market alone to determine when you think it's time to get into the market. However, if you need to employ the use of some financing to purchase your lakefront vacation home, you not only have to watch the ups and downs of the real estate market, but of the mortgage interest market as well. Interest rates, as you know, go up and down just like the prices of lakefront property. If you're borrowing to buy, be careful that you

maine lakefront property: Buying Maine Lakefront Property - Do Lower Prices and Great Selection Lead to an Easier Buying Decison?
- 09/10/09 04:52 AM
During the great sellers' market from 1998 to 2005, selection was below average to poor. Folks "from away" were disappointed with both the number and suitablity of lakefront properties on the market. Lakefront buyers were faced with inflated prices and poor selection. Did they refuse to buy? NO! They saw what was available, picked the best of a mediocre lot and moved ahead. During the height of the sellers market in the summer of 2004 there were four Long Lake lakefront homes on the market. FOUR! Keep in mind that Long Lake is 10 miles long and since there are
