This is Neil from Summerland Key, holding his prize hogfish caught off of the Dry Tortugas this month. Here in the Florida Keys, we usually catch these fish with a spear gun or pole spear. Spear fishing blends the excitement of fishing with the beauty and tranquility of snorkeling or scuba diving. It is a blast, and boy, are those hogfish delicious!

It's hard to believe this mailbox sits in front of a million-dollar ocean front property in a multi-million dollar neighborhood. When we think of curb appeal, consider what this would look like to a potential buyer! Buyers who are driving around on their own might see this mailbox and be immediately turned off-even if the interior does look like a million bucks. Most sellers take the time … (0 comments)

Sellers, we all love our Sellers and their listings are a vital part of our business.  Sellers hire us because we are professionals in our field.  We know the real estate market, know how to advertise and market a home for sale and we understand the hours and commitment it takes to get their home sold.  It always amazes me when speaking with a Seller about the next steps in selling … (1 comments)

Here are some ways to "neutralize" your home without making it boring.

Toning down the colors in your home so that it is more universally appealing is a great idea. White paint is unflattering and actually draws attention to cracks and uneven walls. Beige is a better choice because it coordinates well with popular "Keys" colors and comes in many varieties, like latte, cappuccino, and cocoa.

In the near future, Monroe County planners will be making changes to the current lower level inspection programs.

Presently, there are four inspection programs in place. These programs were put in place in order to eventually get rid of downstairs enclosures below base flood elevation that many homeowners use for living areas.

Homeowners are allowed an enclosure below base flood elevation that is no more than 299 square feet and … (0 comments)
