diary: Yes! I am a looser!

Here it is.... a moment I can be called a looser and SMILE about it! Yes! I have lost 5 long awaited pounds this week! After fighting with a thyroid problem, I am finally gaining some ground.... instead of another pound. I am so excited I just had to cheer myself on a bit... GO ME! I have worked hard for these 5 pounds, that is for sure. A week of eating salads, fruit, veggies, more salads.. oh yea and water. Lots of water. I am so glad it paid off. Ok, I have struggled over the last couple of weeks. I had hoped to loose two pounds my first week at my weight loss endeavor, but alas I gained 1! I kept asking myself how can this be! Maybe, I have found the answer. I had a visit with my Dr. this week as well as a nutritionist. Turns out my nagging fatigue, low body temp., sensitivity to temperatures may be more than my lack of sleep. I have discovered I have a problem with my thyroid... Now, armed with some new medicine...maybe just maybe I will soon make some progress. … (8 comments)

I am new to Active Rain and love hanging out here, learning and talking to others! I was so excited to find this group! My family and I are on a journey to loose some weight and regain our health and fitness. We have been through a lot of stress this year and even my 13 year old son has developed a bulging middle!
