I have been receiving numerous phone calls lately from People that are moving on a temporary basis to Burke County, Waynesboro Georgia. The majority of the calls have been for information for rental property. With the expansion and building of the two new reactors at Southern Companies Plant Vogtle there are a expected 7000 to 10000 workers coming into the area. Unfortunately Waynesboro has little to offer in the area of rental homes. There are numerous RV parks that have been built throughout Burke County. The new reactors will take an estimated 7 years to build that will be bringing approximately 7000 contractors to accomplish the job. In April 2008, Georgia Power, Toshiba Corp (6502.T)/Shaw Group Inc's (SGR.N) Westinghouse Electric Co and Shaw's Stone & Webster subsidiary agreed to build two Westinghouse 1,100 MW AP1000 reactors at Vogtle.
