Sexton Cove History Sexton Cove in Key Largo has a long and rich history, and is at the northern part of Key Largo, the first community on the Bayside right off the Jewfish Creek Bridge, it offers protected anchorage on Blackwater Sound and features a private community park with boat ramp. Around 1923, Lillian and Charles Sexton traveled from Mississippi to build their "Venice" in Florida on Blackwater Sound, the body of water that travelers now see from the top of the new Jewfish Creek Bridge.
