30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 30 - 11/30/12 03:43 AM
For the month of November I have been writing a series on 30 things to do in or around Pullman Washington.  As Realtor that helps clients relocate to our community, I thought this might be helpful.
For day 30, I have to look forward to December and the lighting of our downtown Pullman Christmas Tree!  Holiday Fest is great Pullman downtown event!  The center of action is, of course, the lighting of the tree in Pine Street Plaza.
But there are events staring at 4!  At 4 we have the Jingle Bell Kids' Fun Run.  There is also a Holiday Costume … (1 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 28 - 11/28/12 05:17 AM
Living in small town like Pullman, we have a lot of small independent restaurants and coffee shops.  One of the great downtown independent coffee shops is the Daily Grind.
The atmosphere is very casual with a unique mix of old chairs, tables and benches.  As it is located in historic downtown, the building affords lots of little spaces and rooms that provide great privacy for students studying and a great place to have coffee with friends or clients.  We also have our staff meetings there ocassionally.
The staff is friendly and they have greata barristas.  I personally have a few favorites. … (0 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 26 - 11/26/12 06:42 AM
Got the Monday blues after Thanksgiving?  Tired of leftover turkey?  I have a great suggestion for you.  You might want to pop over to Moscow Idaho and go to dinner at "Nectar."
It is a great little locally owned restaurant, and they have incredibly good food.  Nikki Woodland is the owner of the restaurant, and everytime I have been there the food has been very good.
They have a very extensive menu, including one very unusual item that gets rave reviews from Inlander.   They are known for an incredible meatloaf....yes...that is right....meatloaf!  It is a bacon wrapped meatloaf with a … (0 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 25 - 11/25/12 04:42 AM

Living in Pullman Washington puts us in a great location for many outdoor activities, including being within about 30 minutes to some of the best inland fishing.  As I grew up in the Lewiston Clarkston Valley, I am personally partial to the confluence of the Snake River and the Clearwater River.  And this time of the year the Steelhead are running.
The river is lined with people in boats trying their luck....and many along the banks fishing as well.  There is an abundance of fish to be found including Trout & Bass, as well as a steelhead run and … (0 comments)

Day 24 of 30 things to in Pullman requires a bit of a road trip 45 minutes south to Lewiston Idaho for the Winter Spirit Holiday lights at Locomotive Park.
I am personally looking forward to it a great deal.  I am taking my grand daughter to the see the lights tonight, letting Momma and Dadda have a date night out.  She is just a little over 2 and I really looking forward to strolling down through the arches with her.  And I know she will love seeing the train all lit up!
According to their websight at www.winterspirit.com the … (2 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things to Do in Pullman Washington: Day 19 - 11/19/12 02:28 AM
Thanksgiving Break has begun for WSU, and the streets of Pullman are quiet.  We always enjoy when our community quiets down a bit.
As I work downtown in Beasley Realty, I often enjoy strolling downtown Main Street and do a little window shopping. I took this picture out on such a walk right down from my office.
It is always a great idea to start with a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate this time of year.  We have both a Thomas Hammer Coffee Shop and a the Daily Grind  Both offer a great cup of coffee and a great atmosphere.

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 18 - 11/18/12 02:23 AM
Here is a great community event you don't want to miss.  On November 18, 2012 the Evangelical Free Church of the Palouse is hosting "Operation Christmas Child."
Boxes can be picked up starting at 12:00.  It is a great cause and I have included guidelines for your convenience.  The boxes need to be returned by Sunday, November 18, 2012.
This is a great cause...and there is no greater feeling that putting a smile on young child's face.
1.  Use a standard size shoe box or small plastic container.  You may wrap the box lid, but it is necessary.  And please pray … (0 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 17 - 11/17/12 04:54 AM
Today there are two events you might want to attend.
The first is the Holiday House and Soup Cafe from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene located at 1400 E 7th in nearby Moscow Idaho.  This looks like a great time!
There is also the RTOP Theater presentation of "The Beauty and Beast."  Times are 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.  I personally love the theater and find it a great way to support our local thespians.  The Beauty and the Beast would … (1 comments)

It is beautiful for a November day in Pullman Washington.  Right now it is 46 degrees with partly sunny skies.  So today's blog of 30 things to do in Pullman has to be an outdoor activity.  I think a trip to the park is definintely in order!
We have several great parks in Pullman Washington.  The one I will focus on today has to be Sunnyside Park located on Sunnyside Hill.  This is one of my personal favorites, and the one I often take my Grand daughter to as she loves both feeding the ducks in the pond as … (1 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 15 - 11/15/12 02:18 AM
One of the must things to do when in Pullman during the winter months is a trip to our indoor pool and fitness center!  The Pullman Aquatic and Fitness Center is located at 500 NW Larry Street near the Pullman High School.
They have both a large pool and a smaller therapy pool.  The large pool is a 25 yard pool and great for laps, swimming competitions as well as alll around family fun.  They also have water exercise classes as well as swimming lessons for all ages. The smaller warmer therapy pool is kept at 92 degrees and is … (0 comments)

You gotta love a mid week break and settle in to some great seats and watch a great game of hoops!  And of course, Butch will be there making his way around the crowd.  Here is a picture of my little grand daughter, Sophia, saying Hi to Butch, our great mascot!
I must admit that I am a bit new to … (1 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things to Do in Pullman Washington: Day 13 - 11/13/12 02:09 AM
When you are in Pulllman, you need to check out Merry Cellars, for a great Washington Wine!  We are fortunate to have this great place right in Pullman, and you don't want to miss this one!
Patrick Merry is the winemaker and develops some lovely wines. He is a great guy and gave me a tour one summer evening when I met with two clients as we celebrated their closings on lovely patio.  It was a great night...you know one of those bitter sweet times.  So happy my seller's sold their home...so sad to see them move.
They also have a … (2 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 12 - 11/12/12 02:12 AM
On Day 12 of our series on 30 things to do in Pullman I am personally heading out of Pullman to nearby Spokane Washington.  And it is a perfect day to do so as it is a legal holiday with the exception of the snow!  Now as a Realtor, there are no such thing as a Holiday.  I work whenever my clients need me, but I have business to tend to up in Spokane.  Fortunately for me, my business follows with me via my cell phone and technology.
Spokane is only about 90 minutes north of Spokane, and a favorite place … (0 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 11 - 11/11/12 05:30 AM
Pullman will be probably clearing out on Sunday afternoon as Dad's head back home after a fun Dad's Weekend.  So I think it would be a great time to grab a movie!
The cinema changes out their movies for Friday, so be sure to check the current schedule of movies and showtimes before you head out on Friday.  I know I have personally made that mistake more than once!

One of my absolute favorite things is to go to the movies, and love going with my girlfriends.  And I just can't resist that movie theatre popcorn!  It … (0 comments)

30 things to do in pullman washington: 30 Things To Do in Pullman Washington: Day 7 - 11/07/12 02:32 AM
Today in Pullman we are anticipating a change in weather from the mid 40's during the day to a cold front coming our way and snow.  So if you haven't gotten those snow tires on, you might want to do that today.
With some colder weather around the corner, I thought it would be a great day to discuss the virtues of coffee in Pullman Washington.  There are some great coffee houses here, but one of my favorite has to be a small and independently owned coffee house named Zoe's located in the heart of Washington State University.  If you are … (2 comments)

One of the things that is fantastic in Pullman is the benefits we enjoy being home to Washington State University.  And of course, for many of us, WSU Sports is central to many of us, providing many hours of enjoyment as we support our young men and women who make up many of the sporting events we enjoy.
Today, November 6, 2012, is the last day to tour our new Cougar Football Project with our new press box and premium seating area from 11:30 to 1.
