I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

I make no secret of my delight at visiting Old Sacramento during Gold Rush Days each Labor Day weekend.  However, there is another annual event hosted in Old Sacramento which provides merry making during the Christmas holiday season.  It’s the Macy’s Theatre of Lights which will celebrate its eig...

There is a reason I left mentioning being grateful for my family, to the 10th and last day of the 10 Day Thanksgiving Post Challenge hosted by “Debbie Reynolds (the Real Debbie Reynolds).  It’s because I consider my family to be most important of all my blessings! I am also blessed that my childr...

We spend a lifetime building precious memories.  But, many of us reach an age where memories are lost to Alzheimer’s, or some other health issue.  I feel blessed and I am very thankful, to still have most of my precious memories! This month, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, Debbie Reynolds (the Rea...

In addition to living life in California, there is another component to the “time-space” realm I’m grateful for.  It is my being born in this era with so much advancement and technological change. I was born late in life to my mother and father.  Before my dad’s birth there were no airplanes.  An...

One of the more important things I’m thankful for is my present day health.    It’s especially important because I endured several years in the early 1990s when it wasn’t always the best. After finally working through a number of diagnoses to find the cause, and remedy it, I set out to improve wh...

Since my family is grown and have families of their own, my two fur buddies, Reuben and Camilla, are a blessing to share life with!Reuben (the Ginger Tabby), often begs for me to come sleep with him.  He finds a spot near my feet and acts as a foot warmer.  Camilla (the Calico), occupies a chair ...

I often joke that I was born in Kansas, but it was an accident. After all anything that happens in Kansas is an accident!  The truth is mom had returned to that state about a month before my birth because of my grandmother’s illness.  She and my dad brought me home to California about 6 weeks lat...

A journey along Utah’s Highway 12 provides a visitor with an opportunity to visit three National Parks, and three Utah State Parks.  In 2009 I crawled into my car, headed east on Highway 50 out of Sacramento to Utah.  I tapped into Highway 12 at its southern tip in Utah.  The beauty of Zion, Bryc...
