The Greater Sacramento Region rarely receives snow, although we sometimes experience hail. However, I was perplexed this morning, when a local newscaster, reported the Natomas area had received as much as 4 inches of “graupel.” I had never heard that term before. So, with curiosity getting the better of me, I fetched my camera, jumped in the car, and headed west toward Natomas!
I quickly learned I am no expert when it comes to falling white stuff from the sky. Upon first glance, it looked like snow to me. Yet, in addition to some weather experts uttering the “graupel” label, others (19 comments)
