I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

Fishermen in the Greater Sacramento region tend to become excited this time of year. Why, you ask? Because, the Salmon are running up the American River! The skies have been a little bluer in our part of California. Air quality has improved from the past few weeks of wildfire smoke. Along the Low...

For the most part, I feel I’ve emotionally survived this pandemic better than some. I have counted myself fortunate that my children and grandchildren are grown. I can’t imagine the trials and tribulations many parents are currently going through, while trying to see the education of their childr...

This is such an unusual year. Thus far, we have seen many of our favored holidays come and go, without fanfare in the company of family and friends. This morning I realized this is the 25th Annual “International Talk Like a Pirate Day.” For my family, “International Talk Like a Pirate Day,” celeb...

I've been particularly interested in the pool replacement project at Hagan Community Park.  I have tried taking pictures to share with my kids (now grown), who took swim lessons there in the 1970s, and also swam on the Blue Marlins.  However, I found this video on the Cordova Park and Recreation ...

To say I've had fun in my garden during this pandemic would be an understatement.  Several days ago, I wrote a post titled, "A Pandemic Sunflower," about my first experience growing one of those joyful looking blossoms.  While only one seed planted, sprouted and prospered, it did indeed thrive to...

I have sometimes shared the story of my pandemic garden this season. I planted 6 tomato plants which have become a high producing hedge. And, there are the squash plants doing what squash plants do, as if they were on steroids! However, it is the tale of a crazy Sunflower which has blown my socks ...

Because of the pandemic and other 2020 stressors, it seems many folks I talk with in recent days, are experiencing more than usual anxiety.  There is no shortage of causes whipping us into frenzy, and tying our bodies in knots.A few years ago, a company I worked for, gifted several employees with...

On Saturday morning, 5 of us gathered for a small quiet birthday breakfast for my grandkid, Macie, who has just turned 20. She is a testament to the fact that BIG things often come in small packages. At 4' 10" and about 85 pounds, she is the Head Life Guard at the U.C. Davis pool. She has also ju...
