We are connoisseurs of Saugatuck Township vacant lots. Our family has been here for 95 years on the same property and we always measure the lots against our great-grandfather's farm, which is now nicely wooded and very much typical landscape of this particular place on the planet. Guess what? Just had my best February ever and my best month ever.
Who would have thought this was possible with all the current real estate doom and gloom.
Well, it happened. I closed three sales in Feburary and and have two more pending.
So I decided to see if it was just me or if the entire area is picking up.
Here are the results year to date for 2009, 2010, and 2011. It isn't just me.
In 2009, five sales were closed from January 1st through the end of February in Saugatuck, Douglas, and Saugatuck Township.

Although the City of Saugatuck and the City of the Village of Douglas seem to be holding their own in the number of sales of homes and condos the last six months of this year as compared to the same time frame last year albeit the total dollars spent are less as reported in my last market condition report, the surrounding townships are offering even better values
In the last six months in Saugatuck Township, Laketown Township, and Manlius and Ganges Townships, not including Saugatuck City, Douglas or Fennville, there have been 78 sales of single family homes for a total dollar amount of $19.2M. … (2 comments)
