real estate marketing: 75% of his listings come from this type of marketing - 07/21/10 06:28 AM
If you guessed...FARMING...you are absolutely correct.  I often write blog posts about being consistent and staying consistent with your marketing if you wish to be consistent with your business.  Makes sense right?  Unfortunately...many still don't GET IT.
I met with one of my clients last week in his office and one of the first things we talked about was his current business, how much he has and where it all came from.  We went down his listing board and it was very clear to see that his THREE YEARS OF FARMING has definitely paid off.  Did you notice the BOLD type?  … (4 comments)

If you are on Active Rain, you clearly understand that having an on-line presence is very important to the success of your business.
In a recent article posted on Inman news, many agents are finding that "Old School Marketing" is new again and it works. Read the article here....It's a good one! One of the agents quoted in the article, says she mailed out only 200 postcards after getting a condo listing and recieved three immediate phone calls, all three were SOLID LEADS. The article also notes that not everyone has email and Internet. I'm sure we can all think of … (2 comments)

real estate marketing: Marketing your business in a slow market - 06/29/10 09:44 AM
If the current real estate market has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for you, you may be tempted to abandon your marketing plan.  Now could be the worst time to abandon your marketing plan and it could be detrimental to your business.
Studies show that only 35.5% of homeowners would use their same agent again WITHOUT regular contact.   If you are depending on your past clients to remember you from five years ago, think again.  You may have played an important role during a big life moment for them, but don't count on them to remember you once … (0 comments)

real estate marketing: Are you still not using Facebook Marketplace? - 06/25/10 12:20 PM
I recently did a post about Facebook Marketplace (you can read it here) and the potential exposure your listings can gain by using Facebook Marketplace. Things just got more interesting, to me anyway and I had to share. Today I received my first ever email from Facebook Marketplace entitled, "Pam Winterbauer and Dennis London's friends just posted in Facebook Marketplace". Don't think that didn't catch my attention and the need to "share" with my friends on the AR Blog! Here is a screen shot of the email, which again makes me want to scream, "if you aren't using Facebook Marketplace in … (2 comments)

real estate marketing: Is your headshot printed on your marketing materials? - 06/24/10 12:48 PM
Real estate sales is about relationships and people like to do business with people they know and like. If you are working to create a brand for yourself in real estate industry, it is important for people to actually recognize you.  When someone sees your photo over and over and over, they begin to feel like know you and they definitely will have a tendency to recognize you, should they run in to you around town.
Believe me when I tell you that I understand how difficult it is to DECIDE to get your head shot done/updated as it is one … (7 comments)

real estate marketing: Posting Your Listings On FaceBook...Updated - 06/18/10 12:03 PM
I have learned more about the Facebook Marketplace and wanted to share in the event you weren't able to find it in your FaceBook. One of my clients couldn't find the link, so I really had to hunt to find it for him myself. Here is where you will find it: Log in to your facebook. Down the left side column you will see a list of applications that may or may not include the Facebook Marketplace (icon is to the left). If you don't see it there, click on the little icon that says "applications" and it will bring you … (2 comments)

real estate marketing: New Short Door Hangers Are In.... - 06/16/10 02:42 PM
The requests for Short Sale Marketing materials is high and we now have Short Sale Door Hangers available for your real estate marketing needs.
Door hangers are an inexpensive option because they can be "walked" instead of mailed.  That postage sure adds up quick and what better way to "meet the people" than to walk the farm yourself.  There is also the option of hiring a teen who is looking for summer work, there are lots of those around.  (Yes, I realize using a teenager can be risky business.  The trick is to tell anyone who walks for you that you … (1 comments)

real estate marketing: Are you posting your listings on Facebook? In the Facebook Marketplace??? - 06/10/10 07:55 AM
If you are one of the agents who has one of the 51,000 listings posted on Facebook, then this post will seem obvious and redundant to you.  If not, you should definitely read on....
Facebook has "The Marketplace" where many real estate agents post their listings.  The wonderful part about the way Facebook works is that those listings show up to "your social circle" anytime someone in your circle enters The Marketplace.  Right at the top of the page in my experience.
If you are not using Facebook as a means to attract prospective buyers and to market to your sphere … (5 comments)

real estate marketing: Who's getting the listings in your farm? Are You? - 06/08/10 11:29 AM
In my neighborhood the "For Sale" signs are beginning to go up at a very rapid rate and it is no surprise to who I see on those "For Sale" signs. This may come as a shock to you, BUT it is the Realtors(R) who are regularly marketing their services to THIS neighborhood who have the listings. Crazy right? NOT!
What would be crazy though is for a farmer to wonder why his/her crop didn't grow when they planted no seeds during planting season. There is a reason they call it "farming", you plant seeds, water them and it grows, even … (5 comments)

real estate marketing: Who is visiting your website? - 06/03/10 08:43 AM
Anyone actively participating in AR knows that blogging and Internet related marketing activities are key to your success in finding new business via the Internet. The big question is..."Is what I am doing driving traffic to my site?" There are easy ways to identify where your website traffic....if any is coming from.
Because PrinterBees is an on-line printing company and a good portion of our printing business comes from Internet related marketing activities, I thought it may be helpful to write a blog post about how you can see who is visiting your website and how they got there.  The best … (4 comments)

real estate marketing: Are you the only thing standing in your way of marketing campaign success? - 05/20/10 07:34 AM
I learned many years ago that I can only be good at so many things and I can only be GREAT at even less. I have also come to accept that there are many, many, many things I cannot do, not to mention there are so many things I have no desire to do. Why would I waste my precious time doing things I hate doing and am not even good at? Does this sound familiar to you? I am the absolute queen of trying to be an expert at everything. Over the last few years, I can honestly say that … (2 comments)

real estate marketing: How people "decide"... - 05/14/10 11:37 AM
I just read an interesting article about real estate marketing and how buyers and sellers choose which buying or selling agent they will work with.  It included 3 very interesting points that I think most Realtors(R) already know.  But....there is a big difference between "knowing" and "doing" though isn't there?
The National Association of Realtors (R) reported that over 90% of consumers choose the first agent they speak with when they choose a buyers or sellers agent to represent them.  Many don't even talk to more than one agent.  You just need to be THAT agent...right? The second most important factor … (0 comments)
