It has been in the news recently that trace amounts of prescription drugs are turning up in our water supply. Some of the sources of this contamination comes from following the old advice to flush prescription medications down the drain. While some drugs are in the water because they are excreted by humans into the sewer system, many are there because people are disposing them directly down the toilet. This is a national concern. No one knows what trace amounts of these drugs ingested over the years can do. While we have fairly good water quality in Salem, we need to (1 comments)
