Pembroke Pines FL was incorporated in 1960....the city has a population of 150,064 and took the name Pembroke from its location along Pembroke Road and the many pine trees in the area. The name may have been from an early landowner from Britain known as the Earl of Pembroke. We have many pro athletes own homes here such as Lawrence Taylor,Manny Ramírez and Hall of Fame baseball Manager Earl Weaver just to name a few.
