The Old Fort Homeless Coalition needs your assistance. The Homeless Coalition needs volunteers who would be willing to serve on the local Board of Directors. The primary purpose of the organization is to put an end to homelessness in the River Valley. Crawford County February Sales show that there were fewer homes sold this month in comparison to last February 2006, but the average price of the homes have increased considerably. Again, we are seeing homes on the market for longer periods of time, but the % of Sales Price & List Price are about the same.

Ground was broken on September 12, 2006 for the new community center located at Martil Luther King Park. The Elm Grove Community Center is scheduled to be completed by June 2007. Susan Berry, commission member, thought the name represents a more multicultural area of town instead of a single person, which would be more inclusive. Billy Bob Williams, another commission member, wanted to see the name attached to the building. What is in the name Martin Luther King? I don't understand how a commission could NOT see the inclusiveness of Martin Luther King! Dr. King fought for Civil Rights for all people. His belief (2 comments)

January 10, 2007, the Fort Smith Convention and Visitors Bureau announced today that Fort Smith has been selected as the host city for the new US Marshals Service's (USMS) National Museum. The museum is estimated to cost $10 to $20 Million dollars, and the site has not been decided. The community of Fort Smith is very excited about the announcement. It is estimated to bring $3 million dollars annually to the area. Fort Smith is famous for it's history. If I had a dime for everytime I was asked that question? Well, you know the rest of the saying. My buyers, sellers, and investors want to know the answer, and I can't blame them. The Fort Smith/Van Buren (River Valley Market) has always been a very steady market! Who's market is it anyway? Currently we are in a Buyers Market! The River Valley has a lot of homes on the market currently. That gives buyers an advantage to be more selective and taking longer in their decision making process. Interest rates have been great during the 4th Quater, and haven't gone up much. With the (0 comments)
