Beatles...The Last Holdouts...To Cd's And Ipod....Dear Prudence
I admire the Beatles and always have not only for their genius as musicians, but also for holding out against the mad rush to cash in on the CD wave and more recently the Ipod.  They and their heirs felt the sound quality produced through these mediums wasn't up to their standard and for that I applaud them.  The song I've selected is one that I've always liked...maybe not one of their most famous, but as with many of their songs it tells the story of someone they knew.  I'll let wikipedia tell that … (4 comments)

nick t pappas: A New Look at Housing Design - 11/15/10 04:31 PM
John Walker from OFallon Illinois and the Scott Air Force Base area has provided us with a great post about energy efficiency and steps builders could and should consider when building new construction.  If you are considering a move to the OFallon area...give Paul a call he is someone who cares about the environment and is knowledgeable of his market.  Go on over and give him a shout.

Here is a short article from Realtor Magazine Daily that mentions what new home buyers are looking for in a home design.

Huntsville Alabama Heatherwood Townhomes For Sale 35802...Update
I did a post back in June about Townhomes for sale in Heatherwood in Southeast Huntsville Alabama.  In that post and others about the area I talked about the stability of the neighborhood that rarely do you see homes come on the market.  Well if you are in the market for a townhomewith less maintenance and convenient to shopping, employment or perhaps Ditto Landing...here's your chance.
There are currently 2 townhomes for sale in Heatherwood and I don't expect them to last long priced at $145,000 and $219,900.  Offering 2 bedrooms/ 3 baths and … (8 comments)

Tims Ford Lake Tennessee...Just A Quiet Bay
Really not much to say here.  A friend has a second home on one of the bays in Tims Ford Lake Tennessee and I walked down to the boat house to catch this quiet moment.  During the summer the bay is never this calm as there are a lot of people out on the water fishing and boating.
Fall is my favorite time of the year just for this reason...the colors, quiet and smell of the leaves brighten even the most dreary of days.  Just thought you would enjoy a piece of calm and … (16 comments)

With An Additional '$220 In Savings' I Would Continue To...
...do what I like to do all year round by mailing a few envelopes filled with help for someone I personally know needs a leg up.  This is not new to me as I've been doing this since the early '70's.  I'm not saying that I've given monetary help every year or that I would give out exactly $220 if I made the Kodak switch because life throws curves at us all from time to time...we are able to dodge some of them, but others hit us full force and we have to take care of … (13 comments)

Not Exactly A Halloween Tune, But How About A Little "Sympathy For The Devil"
Okay, so it's not exactly what you would expect to hear on Halloween, but it's my post.  Anyway, I could have chose Monster Mash or Thriller...maybe the theme from Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield used in the "Exorcist"...that would have been good...did you know that he did that album by himself?  Okay, so I'm off track...it's my post. The Rolling Stones...no introduction needed, but to say another of my favorites...any of you old fogies have enough life left in you to listen to this one more time?

Working With A Realtor...II
In the my last post Working With A Realtor...How It Works I wanted to name of few misconceptions that the public had about working with Realtors.  I received some really good comments and a couple of agents added more to the list that I promised to share in the follow up and final post.
Dave Minder added that sometimes a customer will ask an agent about a listing outside of the area that agent serves, sometimes way outside and they expect you to know all about it simply because it's listed by the same company brand.  Folks, I hate to break it … (7 comments)

RainCamp Charlotte...I'm Soooooo Depressed!!!
I'm sooooo depressed.  I've been arranging my schedule around RainCamp Charlotte for the last week or so.  It would be my first and I was looking forward to meeting members that I've only emailed or talked to on the phone and maybe bending an elbow once or twice with them.  Of course attending classes geared toward all the stuff I want and need to learn more about also factored in there somewhere.
Anyway, as life would have it...all the planning and scheduling in the world is no match for "it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings"! … (20 comments)

This Mustang Brought A Few Memories Racing Back From The Past
On the way back to the office after showing one of my listings here in Madison Alabama, I saw this Mustang...a quick U-turn and moments later I'm back to the corner where it's current owner parked it with a for sale sign.
Now, I'm not knocking the new Mustangs because I'd love to have one, but this was the original of that body style and this was what my car looked like, same color, same model, just not the same year.  This is a '69 Mustang Mach I, automatic...what??...(couldn't have … (17 comments)

I've had pets in the past as I know many of you have or do and you know the unconditional love and companionship they provide.  It really kills me to see animals neglected in what ever form.  Not properly cared for, abused or abandoned because the owner couldn't afford them or couldn't take the family pet with when their home was foreclosed on.
