I was reading a post by Kathy Streib this morning Yes Color can Make a Difference and I was thinking about a program I saw on Netflix called ABSTRACT, The Art of Design, which is all about design. Fascinating program from different viewpoints and each program can stand on its own, so you don't need to see the whole series. The first one I watched was from Season 2 about Olafur Eliasson, he begins discussing color, and using a light that removes colour he has a color spectrum behind him which looks monochromatic. The Chester County Antiques Show 2019, was this past weekend, benefiting the Chester County Historical Society it is in its 37th year. Held at the Church Farm School it is a great size show with some excellent dealers from the East Coast, New England and Mid Atlantic region. I got to attend the opening night party as my brother was exhibiting and went back briefly on Sunday morning when there was a little more space to see some of the pieces on display. I sat down with my friend and interior designer Deb Bettcher recently to discuss Design Trends in 2018. We had a lively discussion and although the video is a little longer than our usual videos time flew and I did not want to lose the impact. Who knew you needed three levels of lighting, and not to have all your furniture at the same height especially in open plan rooms. Spring is the time when there are many Antiques Shows in our area including the major show on the calendar The Philadelphia Antiques Show which is in a couple of weeks. However, this weekend you can browse many of the same dealers who exhibit at the Main Line Antiques Show in October at the Chester County Historical Society Antiques Show. Held at the Phelps School just off Paoli Pike it is a short ride from Tredyffrin Easttown area and you can find all sorts of things to furnish your home with, furniture, paintings, ceramics, silver, decorative arts and Americana. interior design: Wall paper with style making an appearance

I had read recently that wall paper was making a comeback as people move away from just paint, but had not seen any evidence of this whilst looking at homes with customers or visiting brokers opens till this week. Mostly, what I was seeing was old paper, often peeling at edges and with old fashioned patterns and color ways leaving you with a dated feeling which may be great if you are a TV producer looking for a home in which to film, but for todays buyer a definite turn off.
