places to visit: Valley Forge Park through the seasons - 04/26/20 08:41 AM
I can walk into Valley Forge National Park from where I live, there are multiple trails I can use. I have always loved this place ever since we moved here from the UK, even if it is a symbol of the Revolution against the King of England. I love the wide open spaces, but I have come to love all the different trails, the wildlife and the views. Hope you enjoy my video as much as I enjoy the park.

Main Line Secrets
This series of posts is about places or events going on that many just are not aware of. Today, this Main Line Realtor wants to share one of our favorite places. It in truth is not that much of a secret to many Main Line residents, but often those from outside of the area may miss it.
Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne is a wonderful English style garden. Originally the estate of Adolph Rosengarten, Sr and his wife Christine it is filled with beautiful natural flowers and trees. You can follow Chanticleer on Facebook. We never leave Chanticleer without some idea for … (2 comments)

places to visit: I'm thankful for Valley Forge National Park - 11/15/16 10:48 PM
I'm thankful for Valley Forge National Park!
Being a Brit, I always found it ironic visiting here with my kids and hearing about all the history they were learning and how bad the British were portrayed. But, over the years it has become a favorite place to visit. I love walking here, around the loop, along the river in the woods, there are so many places to enjoy. It helps on bad days to soak in the sunshine, to feel the breeze, look out over the vistas and clear your mind, and just breathe. For this I am thankful that wise men, … (9 comments)

places to visit: Forgotten parks, one of the benefits of Tredyffrin Township - 06/23/14 05:06 AM

Right behind our office in Devon PA is this great little Tredyffrin Township Park. Many may not even know it is there. It used to belong to the Italian American Club located nearby, but was purchased some time ago by the township and now provides some green space in a fairly built up area, right behind Devon BMW a place of  quiet where you can stop for a few minutes and relax and enjoy the trees and the grass.
There is also a couple of places nearby you can stop for coffee and a sandwich on Berkely, Pour Richard's Coffee Co. … (3 comments)

places to visit: An alternative to Longwood Gardens right on The Main Line, Chanticleer - 06/05/14 01:52 AM
Last week I posted some video footage of Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne, Radnor Township on Philadelphia's Main Line. However, it is such a great place I had additional footage and thought you might like to see a little more of these wonderful gardens. They make a great alternative to Longwood Gardens for a visit and can provide plenty of inspiration to you for your own yard.

If you are interested in seeing any homes in the area surrounding the gardens give us a call, this is a very desirable place to live on Philadelphia's Main Line, close to Wayne with lots … (0 comments)

places to visit: Jenkins Arboretum in Spring - 05/02/11 01:38 AM
Many people livingin our area love gardening and know thew resource that Jenkins Arboretum can be. I know this time of year it can be beautiful with all the azaleas opening up, something the arboretum is known for along with the rhododendrons, which I thought it was a little early for them to be open. But yesterday, not realizing that it was their plant sale I stopped off and was really amazed at how many rhododendrons were opening up as well. Enjoy this short video of the visit.

places to visit: Places to go, things to do, it is what makes a community worth a little more - 03/17/11 07:42 AM
Places to go, things to do, it is what makes a community worth a little more and the Main Line has so many places to go and things to do. Yesterday, I stopped off at the Wayne Art Center.
My primary reason was to stop off and see the photos from the Rob Cardillo exhibit of Chanticleer on show till the 19th of March. But there was another exhibit of paintings and sculptures on display that I took some time to walk through as well. Well worth stopping to smell the roses.
Chanticleer, the feature of the photographs will also open soon … (1 comments)

places to visit: Lots of antique auctions coming up next week. - 02/17/11 04:50 AM
Antique auctions in our area are pretty common with several good auctioneers in the region. I wrote yesterday about a new exhibit coming at Winterthur but next week, if you prefer buying to looking at antiques there are two auctions happening. Of course just attending an auction can be a lot of fun as well even if you are not buying something. Of course if you have an older house, looking for and finding things in an auction can be helpful to decorate a home authentically.
Pook & Pook in Downingtown are having a two day auction on February 24th and … (1 comments)

places to visit: Winterthur will put American Native objects on display in March - 02/16/11 01:29 AM
One of the places locally that makes a wonderful trip on a nice day is the Winterthur Gardens and House. This reminds me most of an English country home, and the art and antiques displayed are amazing.
One of the parts of the collection that have not been highlighted before are the Native American decorative arts and craft works-acquired by H. F. du Pont. That is being changed in a display beginning on March 1st.
While some of the pieces presented were crafted for Native American use, this exhibition concentrates on items made specifically for trade with early explorers, 18th-century colonists, and … (1 comments)
