the main line antiques show: The Main Line Antiques Show & Surrey Services for Seniors - 09/08/17 07:05 AM
The Main Line Antiques Show, other events and Surrey Services for Seniors

As you know I manage an antique show for a local charity I support, Surrey Services for Seniors. Yesterday, I was asked to appear on Surrey Solutions a program they film for the local community television network in our township which gets shared with other neighboring community channels as well.
I borrowed some items from some of our local exhibitors and for about half an hour we chatted and discussed the show. If you are local, you can obtain complimentary general admission tickets at the show website  www.MainLineAntiquesShow.com. You can order … (6 comments)

the main line antiques show: Being Human - 08/08/17 07:43 AM
I grew up in a family which dealt in antiques, every trip to the countryside often resulted in a purchase as did our vacations as well. This is a photo of my Dad at a major antiques show in London called The Grosvenor House Fair, held at the hotel on Park Lane in London in the ballroom, unfortunately the show is no longer in existence.
I did not want to be an antique dealer, I joined the British Army and went to Sandhurst, our equivalent of West Point after high school. But I had injured my back just before I went and … (27 comments)

the main line antiques show: Surrey Services for Seniors - 03/11/17 06:52 AM
Tredyffrin Easttown Seniors are blessed to have Surrey Services for Seniors in the area.

Rather than needing to move, they can age in place, no rush. Located in Devon with locations in Media and Broomall as well, this local charity just received four stars out of four for the fourth year running by Charity Navigator.
One of the things about Surrey is the number of volunteers who give of their time and energy to the charity. This allows them to keep their costs down and to help more people. Started around a kitchen table, it now has multiple local locations and provides … (9 comments)

the main line antiques show: Why did I do it? - 10/18/16 03:56 AM
Why did I do it?
This may be a question you ask yourself often or not and context is crucial to how that question makes you feel. Did the question make you cringe? Or maybe it started your brain off on an analytical process of organizing your thoughts about your beliefs.
To be honest I have asked myself this question in both contexts. I am very outspoken, and if you want an opinion I can give you one, what is the subject? Looking back that makes me cringe, even reading those words is embarrasing. There have been actions I have taken, things I … (2 comments)

the main line antiques show: How varied was your week? - 09/06/12 06:02 AM
One of the things I love about real estate on Philadelphia's Main Line is how varied your week can be. It allows you to be flexible with your time and how different each day can be. As long as you schedule your time correctly you can always make those important family appointments.
Yes, there are some "customers" who cannot wait and will call another agent to show them a property, but you probably don't want to work with them anyway because they don't value you or your knowledge that you bring to the process. However, it works both ways, there are days … (0 comments)

The Main Line Antiques Show kicks off this weekend on the 12th and 13th November at the Radnor Valley Country Club in Villanova with the opening night preview party tomorrow evening 11/11/11, hopefully an auspicious date. Last year, the opening night was a major success, I can be seen below with Presenting Sponsor Steve and Kathy Bajus at the Preview Party in the booth of Port N'Starboard one of our exhibitors who returned this year.

We have had some great publicity with one of our dealers Sue Stone of Eve Stone Antiques on the 10 Show with some of her … (0 comments)

the main line antiques show: What to do this weekend? Chester County Antiques Show - 03/18/11 07:16 AM
Looking for something to do this weekend, make a quick trip to the Westtown School in West Chester PA then slow down and enjoy the antiques on display at the Chester County Antiques Show. Saturday 10-7 PM and Sunday 11-5 PM. As the organizer of the Main Line Antiques Show why am I telling you to visit another show. Frankly, because it is one of the better shows in the area, and many of my exhibitors are displaying their antiques and art so it is well worth a visit.
Antiques are one of the major ways you can go green. Go green, … (1 comments)

The Main Line Antiques Show 2010 raised a record amount of funds for the beneficiary Surrey Services for Seniors. As chair of the show I am in the picture above with Steve & Kathy Bajus, major sponsors at the preview party in the booth of Port 'n Starboard a new exhibitor for this year.
In every way the show shone, with many new exhibitors, new visitors, a new location at Radnor Valley Country Club and great feedback from dealers and visitors alike. The layout of the booths throughout the country club set off the club and also allowed the antiques and … (1 comments)
