August 2018 home sales in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina (28277 zip code) saw the same trends we've been seeing all year with home prices up, inventory tight, closed sales diminishing due to limited inventory.
 
 
 
 
The average sale price of Ballantyne area homes increased by 10.6% to just under $377,000 as compared with the same period one year ago. (Median sale price in August also increased 20.8% versus one year ago.)
 
Average days on market for property listings in Ballantyne were 35 days. Median days on market stood at 12 days in August 2018.

February 2018 home sales in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina (28277 zip code) saw the same trends of January -- with home prices up, inventory tightening, pending and closed sales struggling to hold on due to the lack of inventory.
 
The average sale price of Ballantyne area homes increased by 5.7% to just under $369,000 as compared with the same period one year ago. (Median sale price in February 2018 was also up 10.1% versus one year ago.)
 
Average days on market for property listings remained somewhat flat and increased by one versus one year ago. Median days on market, however, dropped by 18.2% to 9 days in February 2018.

The average sale price of Ballantyne area homes increased by 3.3% to just under $340,000 as compared with  the same period one year ago. 
 
Median days on market for property listings dropped to 14 days from 20 days just one year ago--a 30% improvement over the same period last year. Average days on market also dropped by 22.2% to 35 days in July 2016.

About six months ago I wrote about Charlotte's Ballantyne area being hot, hot, hot for home buyers. And it would appear that the Ballantyne area continues to be hot, hot, hot (summer weather not withstanding)! Six months ago, a Realtor.com study showed that the 28277 zip code in Charlotte, which encompasses the hugely popular Ballantyne area, was one of the five most searched zip codes in the US.
