Dreaming Of Buying A Home And Thinking It's Unaffordable? Think Again...

Lots of people seem to be asking the question ~ "Should I buy a home now or wait another year? And if I wait will it cost me more to buy?"  What does the cost of waiting actually mean? The cost of waiting to buy is defined as the additional funds it would take to buy a home if prices and interest rates were to increase over a period of time.

What determines the cost of waiting to buy?
If interest rates increase while you wait, you will pay more in monthly mortgage payments.
If home prices rise while you wait, you will pay more … (85 comments)

Congratulations and welcome home to the Rucker Family, Charlotte area's newest home owners. Carolinas Realty Partners enjoyed working with you in helping you buy your first home! There is little more satisfying than finding that "dream home" for first-time buyers. When David said in total disbelief that he never thought he'd be lucky enough to live in such a home, I was moved to tears and it's a moment I will remember for a very long time.  And the icing on the cake here was that he is a Marine veteran! Here in the Charlotte metro area, there are certain questions we get from our clients all the time--and these are questions we, as Realors®, simply CANNOT answer. And when you ask them and we don't answer, please don't think we are not being cooperative in sharing information. home buying: Singles (Especially Single Women) Are Falling For Their Dream Homes - 02/15/16 06:53 AM
Valentine's Day might be officially over, but singles continue to fall for their dream homes. Almost one quarter of all recent home sales were by unmarried buyers. I've certainly seen a huge increase in first-time buyer home sales in the past year--often because many of them were renters trying to reduce their monthly carrying costs for housing. And more than half of the unmarried buyers I've worked with recently have been single women ranging in age from late 20's to late 60's. … (57 comments)

home buying: Why It Doesn't Make Sense To Wait To Buy A Home - 09/20/15 07:47 AM
You may think you have good reasons to wait to buy a home, but in reality it doesn't make sense to keep waiting to do so. While you've been waiting, the cost of waiting keeps going up. The two graphs below illustrate very clearly just why it doesn't make sense to wait to buy a home if you can qualify for a mortgage.

Just since 2012 the income needed to qualify for a median priced home has increased by some $12,336--that's a 39% increase over the past three years. I would venture to guess that the average family's income has not increased … (13 comments)
