Keeping Your Pets Safe During The July 4th Celebrations Did you know more pets get lost on July 4th than any other day of the year? Dogs (and cats) are frightened by fireworks, explosions and loud noises and try to run away to safety. Many then can't seem to find their way home. So keep it a "pet-friendly" holiday and just in case one of your four-legged family members does run away, make sure they all have easy to spot identification on them. Star Spangled Spectacular: Tuesday, July 3rd at 9:30 pm at the American Legion Memorial Stadium. The fireworks show ends an evening of music and festivities... and it's all free as the event is the official kick-off to start the celebration of Charlotte's 250th birthday in 2018.
