Starting Friday, September 1st through Labor Day, September 4th, you'll not only have a ton of fun at the Matthews Alive Festival, you'll be helping the Town of Matthews contribute to local non-profit organizations. 100% of the proceeds from the festival go to local non-profits, living up to the festival's "motto" of: "good times funding good works."

Looking for unique fun in Charlotte, North Carolina on Labor Day Weekend? Why not participate in or attend Charlotte's annual Yard Art Day? Yard Art Day is celebrated throughout the City of Charlotte and the immedite metro areas. And I've referred to Yard Art Day as "unique," because it does appear to be unique to Charlotte. US National Whitewater Center Labor Day Celebration: sort of a "newer" Labor Day celebration tradition in the the Charlotte metro area. The Whitewater Center will feature live music, food, drink and fireworks on Sunday, September 6th. The Center is open from 9:00am till 10:00pm.
