Did you know that it's costing Mecklenburg County more than $1.8 million annually to clean up non-recyclables? An awful lot of man hours are spent sorting out the unrecyclables from the recyclables. Recycle Used Electronics By Donating Yours To Goodwill
Each Wednesday this January (6, 13, 20, 27) you can donate your used and unneeded electronics to Goodwill. Donations can be taken to the Goodwill van, which will be parked from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM outside Brigham Retail in Ballantyne Corporate Park next to the Cabo Fish Taco and Potbelly Sandwich Shop (11611 North Community House Road).

All Self-Service Solid Waste Recycling Centers will also be CLOSED Saturday May 23 and Monday May 25. All Full Service Centers will open on Tuesday at 7:00 am on Tuesday, May 26. After July 6th, in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area, you will need to "Roll to Recyle," as recylcables will no longer be collected from red bins or non-City issued containers. Using a 95-gallon, green, City-issued rollout cart will be the only way to receive curbside recycling collection after July 6th. The rolling recycling bins look just like the grey trash bins we've been using all along, except they will be green in color.
