Who would have expected a rodeo event in Indian Land, South Carolina just south of Charlotte's upscale Ballantyne area? Even after living in Ballantyne on the Indian Land border for for 17 years I had no idea. Indian Land has always had a rich horse culture and many horse farms, but rodeo events, not so much. So if you thought you needed to travel out west to see a rodeo... this weekend you can keep it local.

The FEI World Equestrian Games™, the World Championships of International equestrian sport, are coming to the Charlotte, North Carolina region in September 2018. The games will be held in Mill Spring, North Carolina, about 80 miles west of Charlotte at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.
