Networking has taken on new meaning in the current real estate market.  There are "secret" networking groups within larger company networking meetings.  "Closed" networking cliques exist as well as "luxury home" networking systems.  Often these networking meetings are by invitation only.  The goal is to sell a property before it hits the open market and receives dozens of offers.
In my opinion, this may not be the best route for either the buyer or the seller.  I do think it works well for the agents--there I said it.  If the purpose of placing a property on the Multiple Listing … (10 comments)

Lay a strong foundation.  It is difficult to stand strong if your foundation is weak. Set a high standard and live up to it, even in the difficult moments.  Temptations abound.  Shortcuts beckon. A base of honesty, loyalty, integrity and compassion will support and serve you well.  Make a list of the characteristics you would like your best friend to possess.  Be that friend to yourself and others.  Be that agent to your clients. When tough times come, and come they will, your core values may be all you have to see you through a life storm.

customer service: Those After Hours Phone Calls Are Some of the Most Important Ones I Receive - 04/08/09 04:58 AM
I took a business call at 9:30 last night.  I answered it because I wanted to.  This particular client works in the medical field and is not available to take calls during the work day.  We could exchange messages with each other in the never ending game of phone tag, but that is a slow way to receive the answer to pressing questions. 
 The back and forth exchanges of real time conversation conveys more than an answer to a question; it sends the message of responsiveness, sincerity and that the contractual verbiage of "Time is of the Essence" carries weight and meaning.  Important decisions … (10 comments)
