It's a lifestyle many aspire to and although the purchase prices are high there are a surprising number of rentals available near the beach.

50 Redondo Beach residential income properties sold in 2014.  
The price range was wide--the least expensive Redondo income property sold for $595,000 for two units on a double lot.  The most expensive Redondo Beach income property sold in 2014 was an eight unit building on the Esplanade that sold over asking price for $4,258,000.  The other 48 residential income properties fell somewhere in between.
 
There are currently six Redondo Beach income properties for sale.  Eight Redondo Beach income properties are in escrow with accepted offers.

Renters outnumber owners in Los Angeles.  According to a housing forecast I glanced at last week, Los Angeles area rents are projected to increase next year by an average of 8%, or if under rent control, whatever the law will allow.  Millennials are postponing home ownership and boomers are ditching the big single family home in favor of smaller urban digs.  The future of income property in greater Los Angeles looks bright.

Redondo Beach income property is an obvious choice for many of my clients who reside on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.  Redondo Beach is nearby and convenient for my clients to do property checks on when they are out and about the beach cities.  Redondo also offers a wide variety of income properties ranging from duplexes to larger apartment complexes.
