I wrote the original version of this article in 2011; it remains a perennial favorite for web search results, so perhaps it is time for a 2016 update on luxury home sales on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
First, the criteria bar for luxury homes has moved--upward to $3,000,000.  That change gives an indication of the condition of the uber-luxury home market in Palos Verdes.

The sun was obscured by a rather heavy marine layer at this Rolling Hills coastal home on Tuesday's tour of new listings in Palos Verdes, but those kind of days are perfect for enjoying the courtyard patio with an inviting mix of lush plants, comfortable seating and a focal fireplace.  Until the fog rolls away, I could be very happy enjoying this garden spot complete with a lounging feline, and I'm sure the new buyer will be as well.

Palos Verdes luxury home market is gaining momentum.  There are currently 54 Palos Verdes luxury homes priced over $2,000,000 for sale.  13 Palos Verdes luxury homes are in escrow with accepted offers and 12 luxury homes closed escrow during the month of August 2013.
5 Sagebrush Lane claims the title of priciest home sale for the month of August.  The nearly 12,000 sq. ft home is located in Rolling Hills and was on the market for over 600 days.
