Yesterday, I received the April report from The Lake City Board of Realtors comparing April, 2008 to April, 2009 for the Lake City, Fl. areas. In April, 2008 there was 34 homes sold and in April, 2009 there was 29 homes sold. That is a negative 15%.The good news for Home Buyers is, in the same time frame, the Median Sales Price went from $156.650 to $125,000. That is a big negative 20% in price.Looking for Lake City, FL. A few days ago, I received the March numbers from The Lake City Board of Realtors comparing March 2008 to March 2009 for the Lake City, Fl. areas. In March 2008 there was 54 homes sold and in March 2009 there was 34 homes sold. That is a negative 37%.The good news for Home Buyers is in the same time frame the Median Sales Price went from $166,200 to $156,000. That is a negative 6% in price.Looking for Lake City, FL. The Columbia County Commissioners and the Columbia County School Board held a workshop last night (3/3/09). The County Commissioners will meet again this Trues. 3/4/09 to take a vote on stopping the Impact Fees for at least one year for Lake City, FL. and Columbia County. There was several Builders, Developers, Land owners and Realtors that attended in support of them stopping the Impact Fees. Most of the Columbia County School Board Members where not for it, but The County Commissioners are all for it and has the final say. Here in Lake City, Fl.we are turning 150 years old. Wow! Today is going to kickoff the celebration for Lake City. Tonight there will be a banquet and there will be more going on through out the year. Lake Cityis going in fact in the last few months there has been a new Publix, Food Lion and other restaurants open. This weekend also they will be a new Family Dollar open. Well again, the Realtor Sales for November, 2008, for The Lake City Board of Realtors fell 40% (comparing November of 2007 to November 2008) occurring to the Lake City Board of Realtors Newsletter. The median sales price stay the same at $155,000. The Lake City Board of Realtors covers mostly Columbia County, Suwannee County, Hamilton and Union County, located in North Florida.

Below are the Numbers released by the Lake City Board of Realtors comparing October 2008 to October 2007 and it is not to pretty. Realtor sells where down a negative 36% and the median sell price dropped a negative 28%. I just received a call from one of our Local Banks here in Lake City, FL. and they now have a 30 year fix loan with a 740 credit score or more for a great rate of 5.375%. WOW! The Columbia High School Tigers are the winnings football team in Florida. Here in Lake City, Florida and Columbia County we support them along with the other High School (Fort White High School Indians). There at one time was not a Fort White High School. It has only been open since 1999. The Fort White Indians are having a better season this year then Columbia High Tigers.
